Beast you say you would be ok if we got relegated playing attacking football instead of winning the league playing cautious football.

For a moment let's assume that's true and say we do get relegated due to LVG playing fearless attacking football.

Would you not use "LvG got us relegated" as a reason to call for his sacking?

Agree10 Disagree1

Thus debate always ends up at the extremes. If winning the League means tortuous boring football then I don't want to win the League. That doesn't mean I would be happy being relegated. As jred said, some teams are renowned for attacking football, we are one of them.

22 Nov 2015 14:41:11
This is a daft question, Beast has made it clear that he does not like LVG due to style of play.

You want us to imagine a scenario where LVG plays wonderful attacking football but we lose every week and get relegated?

Let it go. Beast is very clear and consistent is his opinion. Why does everyone feel the need to prove he's wrong or change his mind?!

22 Nov 2015 15:01:14
Dodgy I don't want to change his opinion.

AJH, he started with the extreme situations.

Everybody here wants attacking and attractive football but if you say that you would be ok with us getting relegated playing attacking football means that you don't really understand that magnitude of what you are saying or you haven't even given it a proper thought.

Infact getting relegated while playing attacking football would be termed as counter-productive.

If I am being honest, if we were to get relegated playing attacking football then I would be as frustrated and disappointed as Beast is now due to our less imaginative cautious football.

To each his own I guess.

this is getting daft.

22 Nov 2015 15:20:11
I rather not get relegated and win playing whatever type of football we can to do it.

Just comparing this season to last, yes we're playing similarly dull football and it isn't what any of us want, but I can't overstate how happy I am to grab a beer and watch us in the CL midweek. I didn't realise how much I'd miss it, but even with the knowledge of the fact that I'm going to be frustrated by the sideways passing and minimal number of chances, I'm already excited for the PSV game. I want to see us playing the attractive, free flowing stuff I've been brought up on, and I would sacrifice the league to be entertained every week, however, knowing how much I appreciate being back in the CL, I draw the line at missing out on the top 4. Personally, I think that's a fair compromise for the time being - I don't want us to become Arsenal by any stretch - but as long as we're challenging and playing nice stuff, and then sign a top player or two to take us to the next level, I certainly wouldn't complain.

22 Nov 2015 17:37:20
I will take an ugly one goal win on Wednesday. it is a marathon and not a sprint and at the moment the points no matter what will allow us to play more freely and without the pressure that comes with when looking up at teams above you in the table. I don't think we will see us play beautiful football this year.

Louis van gaal not the manager we deserve but the manager we needed?

{Ed025's Note - fair comment that mort..

22 Nov 2015 18:23:01
i just find lvg very average, just watched spurs and you can really see what pochettino is building .
good to watch modern football as well.

22 Nov 2015 19:13:26
True jred. I can see what van Gaal is aiming for with the team, but it isn't very progressive or ambitious. Can't help but think that whoever takes over will immediately rip up the philosophy and start over.

22 Nov 2015 19:21:20
danny
thats one of my issues i think the next manager we have to start again.

22 Nov 2015 19:49:09
The next manager will have to start again?

Are ye lads for real?

22 Nov 2015 19:51:46
Exactly my issue lads - We may be tighter at the back, but any team could be if they sacrifice their attack. I think Pellegrini is in trouble, Wenger will be likely gone in the Summer and who knows with Jose, Enrique wants to manage Spain, Rafa is on thin ice, Blanc looks like he may fancy a change - a lot of big changes in the summer.

If we have our eyes on a certain Bayern manager then we need to act decisively because another 18 months of this football is torturous.

22 Nov 2015 20:05:29
its been over 12 month and the players are still getting to grips with lvg philosophy.

22 Nov 2015 21:45:57
You need the players to play sexy football and ours are just too god damn ugly. AMEN 😆😆.
