Never got all the hype on januzaj, I see odd glimpse of a decent player never will be world class nor will James Wilson if your world class you stand out from the rest neither do, I know I'm going to get some mixed opinions but I really can't see what either have done that's makes people think there the big article.

I'm inclined to agree with you.

Januzaj was terrific in the youth game and aside from him being a very dim light in a poor season under Moyes we haven't had much to right home about with him.

He does have a lot of talent, but his downfall like so many rests on the fact his decision making is pitiful.

I think that the thing to remember is that they're both talented young players who can hopefully still develop and improve their game. Every team is made up of individual players of different standards. I don't recall ever seeing a team made up of just 'world class' players. My personal opinion is that the best teams generally tend to have at most just two or three players who really stand out and might be considered 'world class'. It is the entire squad who are able to play together and perform better than the sum of their parts.
Both Januzaj and Wilson have, at times, shown the ability to perform above what could be considered 'average' which I believe entitles them to be given opportunities to show what more they can achieve. Whilst they might not achieve 'world class' status in the majority of people's opinions, that doesn't mean that they can't improve the overall performance of the team.
However, I would agree that both require an improvement in certain elements of their games before securing positions in the team but perhaps changes elsewhere in the team could result in improved performances from both. We're obviously having trouble creating chances at the moment.
That's just my slightly pished thoughts on the matter.

Robski, is Dortmund having problem creating chances too?

what a load of crap, wilson is 19 and adan 20 they are both just kids.
adan has 46 for united scholes was 24 before he had got that many games under his belt.
when scholes first started he looked ok but lacked fitness and pace and didn't really look like he would make it to the top .
at 20 years old beckham was playing for preston .

robski and jred,

I agree with both of you, people writing off 19 and 20 year olds because they aren't world class yet is utterly ridiculous.

Lingard is 22. Where was he a month ago?

I don't rate him that highly, but it goes to show if more talented players like Januzaj and Wilson are younger then we would be foolish writing them off now.

That said, I doubt all 3 of them will be at the club in a couple of years time. Too much money involved now.

Don't be silly GDS and Beast. Either you're Neymar at 20 or you may as well pack it all in.

Its far too early to write them off, they are young and talented and all players develop at different rates.

But in saying that I don't think they will ultimately make it as a regular starter at our club.

Januzaj has been given plenty of chances but has not developed since his debut which was two years ago now. He still has his touch and guile which let's him glide past players, but his shooting, passing and decision making haven't improved at all. He may get to a point where it all just clicks, but he has neither raw pace or power, so without those attributes he will need to rely on his intelligence which is where he lacks. He will need to concentrate and learn far more about position, movement and decision making if he is to make it as a "top" player. Thus far he hasn't learnt a thing in over 2 years of first team football.

Wilson is far too good for youth football, but atm not good enough for the Premier league. He needs two years of loans and regular football probably one year in the championship followed by a year in the Premier league if his first loan goes well. This is the problem with youth football in this country, the step up from youth to Premier league is probably bigger than the step up from League 1 to the Premier league. If England is to produce top class talent we need to work on bridging that gap.

Lingard is having finally showing the ability in the first team than has kept him at the club even when other players from his exceptional youth side moved on. Hopefully he can take that chance. But I feel he may be destined to have a career similar to players such as Brown or O'Shea important sqaud players but just fall short of having a big enough impact to demand a regular first team place.

adan and wilson are far better players imo.

Remember Eagles?

I've never wrote either off I'm just saying I don't see what everybody else sees, if I had to hazard a GUESS I'd neither will become anything special.
