For the last few seasons, I was expecting to see Lingard given his chance because of the good pre-season form he showed; but it never happened. I am just glad that the lad is getting his chance now. He deserves it.

He will be our next ashley young . He is a good player but i don't think he has in him what the likes of Perera or Januzaj has.

But i hope he makes it into a top player and he has the time on his hand as he is only 22.

Twice as good as adnan for me. I think he will be sold in the summer.

I don't think januzaj will make it.

He would have been around the first team last season but got a bad injury right at the start of the season.

Singh,

Yet Lingard is the one playing for us and Januzaj is not.

I said a while ago that Lingard will make it here, as an Ashley Young type of player. Not a regular, but a good squad player. I'm also struggling to see where Adnan fits in, he has not been good here and has done very little at Dortmund. Unfortunately, there are too many players in his way here for that number 10 position - Rooney, Mata, Herrera and Pereira.

Getting to the very top is hard. Some players just peak at a certain level and are unable to ever step up. A flash of Kikoesque inspiration perhaps, while they remain unknown and relatively unmarked, but sustained quality is something else. Lingard, after having been hampered by injury, looks like he has what it takes to be part of the United squad and play regularly. But Adnan looks like he has no future at the club and I agree with Ken in that I would not be surprised to see him sold in the summer. One also has to take into account that we may well acquire more established players in his position making that reality even more clear cut. If we make the Champions League next year then our finances should be in good shape for another significant purchase is quite likely, if only to help sell a whole load of newly designed kit.

He was built up as being the next best thing. But he has failed to break through, he has had opportunities he just has not taken them.
Ive said before I don't think he will cut it in the epl but will probably have a more than average career elsewhere. He is young and still has a little time on his side and I hope I'm wrong but I have seen no evidence to date that tells me he will be a united player in 2 years time.
