Have we shown any interest in a young talented german player called Leroy Sane?

From Schalke and plays on the right although left-footed?

I think in depay, perreira, lingard and even martial on occasions, we are well stocked in the young fleet footed wide player area. So i doubt that would be a priority for us.

we have been after a left footed right winger for almost 3 years mate.

Personally I'd like to think Rooney will be off come summer, so Martial would become more central, Calhanoglu comes in too behind Martial with a need of more players like Sane to come in? Rooney's big pack will be off the books as well?

As much as I do LOVE Mata, technical ability is second to none but his pace worries me?

He's on my shortlist of players who we should sign for the RW. Currently It's Mane, Berardi and Sane. Probably in that order.

{Ed025's Note - mane looks very good to me shappy, but his price will be inflated due to the fact that he has proven he fits in the EPL and that southampton will not want to lose him mate..

Since I've mentioned Leroy Sane, media outlets about us being interested in signing him have gone mad?

True Ed, but I believe its much better to sign the best players in your own league than gamble on ones from outside. Mane won't cost as much as Di Maria but i'm sure he will have more impact.

If we really could get anyone to play on the right I'd go for Alexis Sanchez, He has pace, power, technique, work rate, is proven in the Premier League and in signing him we would weaken a direct rival. I'd happily pay 60-70m for him.
He looks a little burnt out atm but he played a full season with Barca, then went to the world cup with Chile then a whole season with Arsenal followed but the Copa America. I think he will have an underwhelming season this year and if we can capitalise on that this summer we would be quids in. He will have his first rest in three years this summer while all the european players play at the Euro's, He will be the best player in the league next season while they suffer the burn out he is currently and he will be fully rested.

But the chances are slim. So Mane is the next best option imo.

{Ed025's Note - i cant see arsenal letting sanchez go shappy..especially to united!, he is a brilliant player and as you say EPL proven but as much as arsene wenger looks at it differently arsenal have plenty of money, mane would be an excellent signing for utd in my eyes, he has skill, pace, and an eye for goal, but he wont come cheap as there will be interest from home and abroad mate..

Fortunately we don't have to worry too much about the price. Yes he won't be cheap. Probably between 30-35m but even if he cost 45m he would still weaken a rival team amd strengthen us.

Anyone we sign who is good enough will cost a lot of money. We just paid an intial 36m for a teenager with less than 30 league games under his belt, and that fee could rise well in to the 50m range.

If Mane is the right player then his cost should be some what irrelevent. Beside his wages wouldn't be half of what someone like Bale, Neymar or Sanchez would cost, and his fee would be signifcantly lower too. If we can afford these guys then Mane should be easily attainable.
