great site eds, long time reader and first time poster, with all the rumours of a fast winger being looked at from either (Mane, Mahrez, Anderson and El Ghazi) I know this is only paper talk however I was wondering if A. Any eds know who would be most likely and B. Who would readers most want to see brought in? Personally I'd like to see Mahrez, looks a great talent.

{Ed002's Note - I am not prepared to provide any further transfer-related information to this page but I am sure the readers will tell you who they would prefer.}

Mane!

Memphis! Save 40m.

Mane he has real pace which we badly need and he could play in all 4 attacking positions but all 4 would be an improvement.

El Ghazi is lighting up the Eredivise, looks a real talent - but then again Depay lit up that league!

Mane for me- still young, pacey and proven.

I'd go with Mane, not only is he proven in our league but by signing him we not only strengthen ourselves but we weaken a rival. It is a ploy done time and time again by Bayern Munich and why they will always be the top team in Germany.

They all have their positives and negatives. I would like to see more from Mahrez over the course of a whole season. El Ghazi will be no more ready than Memphis. Felipe Anderson I am sure is very inconsistent, either brilliant or useless a bit like Nani and then Mane will go missing for a few weeks for the AFCON.

So to be honest, I'd look elsewhere for someone more consistent and proven if that is at all possible. Reus could be looked at but he is injury prone, Neymar prefers the left, Ronaldo the left. Bale would be the ideal player for the right but can't see it. I don't know.

I believe Memphis will come good. Him, Lingard and Martial could form an awesome combination, with each possessing qualities that could benefit the others.

Lingard for me doesn't have that x-factor. Good squad player like an Ashley Young at best. He doesn't have the potential of a Martial or a young Ronaldo.

Not sure what the x factor is mate. But someone who runs, dribbles, creates goals and scores them can't be a bad asset to have, especially if the other assets are not delivering.

Not every player develops at the same rate. We have this expectation that every top player should be pulling up trees by the time they hit 20, but that simply isn't the case. Lingard is 22 and has only started two EPL games for us. He is, however, starting to show signs that not only can he cope with the big league, but can actually influence games. The lad was highly thought of at youth level, and it was commonly felt that his size and build meant that he would take longer to adapt to first team football. Give him some time to develop and then you can talk about him not having the x factor (whatever that means) .

Danny - couldn't agree more, so many players are written off these days without the chance to develop.

I know he's a freak of a player, but one example is Gareth Bale - potentially was going to sign for a championship club after seemingly not having what it takes for the prem, but given a few years and some time to physically develop look at him.

I real like Jesse and think if he gets a run and is allowed to mature and grow physically he will become a good player personally.

Spot on Danny, people are so quick to write off young English talent. Even Young who Fresh was comparing him to is a very good player. I swear sometimes people get all stary eyed over a big foreign name, and forget what this club has always been built on.

I personally get far more excited over a young Englishman coming through the ranks, over a big foreign signing.

I agree with Eric79.
Let our own players develop into something special.

I don't know if it's just me but I thought Memphis linked up pretty well with Martial in those early games when Rooney was injured. maybe it's just me.
