Interesting debate about how the site has bee recently. My issue is the repetitiveness of posts, I can read the 1st line sometimes and instinctively know who has written it. If you don't have a new point to make, why simply repeat all the things you have said 20 times already?

Some quality contributors have taken a break as it has just got monotonous. Everyone has a right to voice their opinions, just not twice a day every day.

As for our current situation, it does remind me of SAF's early years as he built his 1st Champinship winning team; right now we're not sure which team will turn up but we are probably only a couple of players away from being a very very good team.

We should see off Boro even though I expect quite a few changes. This might be a chance to see Martial up top but he may well get a rest.

I think we will beat Palace; they will fancy it and want to attack which will suit us. D lie to see Carrick for Schweinsteiger and I genuinely think Rooney deserves a break but we have more than enough to see Palace off.

Final point about my opening paragraph. Let's debate the issues without taking sides or forming factions. I make some positive points, I make some constructive points, and I'm happy to debate them without the need for name calling or emotional responses. Sadly, there are subjects that always descend into irrational 'it's my opinion' territory.

I should add that I have descended into bluntness a few times and been saved by the Eds not posting!

I agree AJH I have been called many things on this site which for me shows that some folk are just not capable of sustaining an educated adult debate.

I also think we will beat CP if we try to win the game but will we try to win the game? That is what is getting to me at the moment. Many have said that 'we played City who are one of the best in the league that's why we were very coy' that's fine but we seem to set up this way against teams like Sunderland etc also.

Look at the Everton result. Just go out and have a go that's all we are asking. We have the players to win most games so just untighten their shackles and let them light up the arena.

I'll be totally honest and say I could see the merits of the cagey first half. It was a purists half of football, nothing exciting but the personal battles all over the pitch were intriguing - it was like the first lap of an 800m race with people jostling for position.

2nd half is what annoyed me, City clearly were the first to blink and just like the previous Wednesday we didn't know how to capitalise on this.

In terms of the other stuff, let's just all shake hands and move on. We all want the same thing and have to remember we are Utd supporters debating between Utd supporters. Sorry if I have upset anybody or put them off reading the site, it isn't my intention at all.

On a break.

JMB / Rollo / MAZE,

Your first paragraph just made me laugh, I can't tell if that was meant to be tongue in cheek, I suspect not but still, very funny.

Beast,

You have never upset anybody my friend, I disagree with you a lot but you have never been offensive to anybody, you are the most pessimistic person I think I have ever had to deal with, but in a nice way!

28 Oct 2015 09:58:44
GDS2 you have just done the opposite of what AJH was trying to get across, having a pointless dig at somebody with no relation to football whatsoever.

Whatever makes you feel better lad.

28 Oct 2015 11:06:21
I said you made me laugh mate, lighten up, it wasn't a dig.

28 Oct 2015 11:11:38
Ajh,
How can we debate issues without taking sides? :P
I agree with everything else though. ;)

28 Oct 2015 11:40:53
You always play your snide comments off as a laugh but they are just downright insults.

28 Oct 2015 14:46:49
Maze
That's exactly how I see him too, maybe he doesn't realise that's the way he comes across. GDS you are a very good poster, good at debate and a credit to these pages (most of the time) but please just think a little before jumping in feet first.
Its so much easier to be nice.

Banter police,

I know how I come across, I thought I was on a banter page with adults, if I have a laugh at someone that is all it is, banter, if you don't like banter stick to the rumours page, I am not nasty or abusive to anybody and if I was I would expect the Ed's to tell me, not other posters, but thanks anyway.

BANTER:
the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.

CONDESCENDING
having or showing an attitude of patronizing superiority.

Which one fits you better sir?

God this place has gone yo the dogs of late.

28 Oct 2015 18:25:53
I agree Brendan81.

28 Oct 2015 18:38:57
Shame, it was quality at one point and couldn't keep away. Now i'm surprised if I can be arsed coming on once or twice a day, a lot of days not at all.

28 Oct 2015 19:07:56
We just need to get back to what the page is about, talking about and debating football.
The bickering and point scoring over each other is pointless and doesn't achieve anything.

28 Oct 2015 19:20:18
I agree Herbie, so what are people's views on Rooney then?

28 Oct 2015 19:38:25
Is that the Rooney of today or the pre granny Rooney?
:-)

{Ed007's Note - I heard there's talks over a new contract that will take him until he's 36 planned for the summer to tie in with his testimonial year. The board see it as a reward and a thank you for all he's done for the club over the years and the loyalty he's shown while others came and went.}

28 Oct 2015 19:58:04
Are you been serious Bond?
I have always supported Rooney but its obvious he has playing issues at the moment. What is it the board see's that the rest don't?

28 Oct 2015 20:34:51
A new £50,000 per week maybe.
