Before the complete apocalyptic collapse of this site is would like to give my tactical analysis of this game so far. We have been sh!t arsenal have been phenomenal.

Haha Deano spot on unfortunately, Arsenal would have ripped any team apart in that first 20 minutes we couldn't cope with them. Big shame as I was really looking forward to the game. Not going to have a meltdown because of it, we lost a few games under fergie like this and it was how we reacted to defeats that made us stand out. You can't win them all.

And we are only 2 points off the top.
I think we came into this game without the level of intensity required to rebuff the predictable Arsenal type of start. You can't stop speed and precision with a lethargic commitment to the control you haven't yet earned.
Against a packed Arsenal defence we did create a few chances, but unfortunately put none of the away.
Overall a poor performance with Memphis and Rooney still looking like they're not up to it. Memphis has time but it's hard to see Rooney ever being at the level again, and we can thank Moyes for the fact that he's ours until 2019.
Does anyone think maybe Wilson should be given a chance over Rooney?
{Ed004's Note - I am not sure why he doesn't revert back to the formation that did so well against the big teams last season? Either way we need to sort out the defence. Forget this Smalling and Blind experiment until Shaw is back. Play a consistent back four of Darmian, Smalling, Jones and Blind. Go to a midfield 3 of Carrick/Schweinsteiger holding Herrera and Fellaini/Schneiderlin box to to box and Mata, Martial and Young up top. Let's see if LvG has the balls to drop Rooney and Memphis. I don't mean this in a condescending way but can play 4231 against the teams we expect to dominate the midfield against easily enough}

Sorry brendan but arsenal's first 20 min would have seen better teams than us in a spot of bother they were fantastic.

Absolutely gds a bad day no more no less, the players didn't perform and the manager was out thunk it won't be the first or last time it happens and as you say the reaction in the next game is what I will be looking out for.
On a plus note I thought the captain looked a little more lively in the 2nd half.

Deano, they were helped by how poor we were. They were good, as I said, but as we were poor, they looked even better. Yes most teams would have been tested with how they started, I agree, but us being so poor was just as much the problem.

We did help them along the way mate I will agree with that I think DarmIan and Bastian had their worst games in a united shirt but credit where it's due they were scintillating in that 1st 20 .

when you are 2 steps late in midfield against an arsenal team you are dead and buried mate. Playing a makeshift left back in ashley young with no defensive support from depay and 2 midfielders who are not the quickest in and also having Darmian exposed by lack of cover on the other side was always going to turn out one way and make one team look like world beaters.
It is quite worrying how many times we make substitutions at half time as it clearly signals we have got things completely wrong.

I'm not going to disagree with anyone today mate we were shocking and got a well deserved tonking. The manager got it wrong, the players never turned up and our opponents were at their very best it's a recipe for disaster and we from manager to subs we were given a massive wake up call, but I'm not getting carried away as I realise it's not going to be the last time we get twatted by a better team on the day it has happened many, many times before and will happen many, many times again so can we not just wait to see how we respond before we get a speed dial to the samaritans.
