A question to start a bit of a debate.

To all those who are unhappy with LvG's management of our team. Say there was no option to replace LvG with a top manager mid season.
Would you prefer LvG to manage the team until the end of the season and then replace him? Or would you rather sack him now amd have Giggs manage the club until the end of the season and then see if we replace Giggs with someone else?

Agree1 Disagree0

we are second in the league, sack the manager ? what an odd question

26 Sep 2015 13:06:14
I'm not a huge fan of the style of football, and think a few of the signings have been poor, but I don't want to sack lvg. I want him to address the glaring weaknesses in the team, and take the leash off a bit, let them play.

26 Sep 2015 13:13:01
Jred, I don't want the manager sacked and I don't believe he should be. But there are some who do. I just want to better understand their mindset.

26 Sep 2015 13:21:50
Stand-Utd, nailed it, mate. There's a world of difference between disagreeing with some of the things he does, and wanting him sacked.

He has me tearing my hair out sometimes, but I don't want to flippin' sack him.

26 Sep 2015 13:31:26
Stand who do you think was a poor signing?

26 Sep 2015 13:39:12
shappy
im not so sure there there is anyone who want him sacked at this moment in time
for me its just a case of if anyone puts a comment on that isn't fully pro lvg people get upset.

strange thing is if pep or klopp where in the frame for the united job this summer i think a lot of lvg fans on the site would have a change of heart

26 Sep 2015 14:00:22
Jred I think we can all think of one who wants him gone.

I think most of us accept he was brought in on a short term contract to do the nasty part of the rebuilding and ship out those under performing members of the squad. Which I think we all agree was over due.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of pep and I think klopp will end up somewhere a bit warmer than Manchester.

26 Sep 2015 14:01:03
I hate the boring football and he frustrates the hell out of me BUT he's stopped the rot so to speak that had set in under moyes. I think teams are slowly starting to dread playing us again although now it's cause they will hardly touch the ball not because of our attacking threat. At this moment in time he's doing what needs to be done which like I said is boring at times but in all honesty I'd rather him doimg this part of the rebuild then giggs or moyes.

i would be surprised if maze or beast wanted him sacked at this moment in time .
summer maybe but not now

26 Sep 2015 14:27:43
There area couple who want him sacked that post regularly. But that is the same for every club even Chelsea. I can't think of one reason to sack the manager at this point.
I don't get the love in with klopp. BD are doing better without him. He walked away when under pressure. His signings over last 3 seasons have been really poor. He took a team of champions to mid table in 3 years that are no preforming better without him. I believe we have the right man at the right time. Sure we still need a couple of players but from where I'm sitting the future looks bright for the 1st time ina couple of years.

26 Sep 2015 14:29:02
Mort, I think Rojo was a poor signing. I watched him before and after we signed him and he's shown nothing to convince me he's a man united player. Falcao was signed on huge wages and never given a run in the side, so him. Di Maria was a victim of the style of football we play. The system lvg likes does not suit him at all. He's still a top player. so why sign him to play in a rigid system? So he is another. Blinds a good, tidy, clever player but he won't get into our midfield now we have addressed that problem. So i'd rather have a CB by trade that Blind fill in there. That said he's a good squad player so I suppose he was a decent signing. Romero isn't a good signing, he panics me when I see him play.

Jred, I haven't commented for a couple of days because the whole LvG lovers / hater's thing is getting tedious. But posts like your last one get on my wick.
Why is it so difficult for you to understand? You say people get upset if posts are not "fully pro LvG". That is simply not the case. Myself, GDS, Shappy and many others respond to the anti LvG posts not because we all think LvG is the new messiah and is always correct. It is more because (I cannot speak for other, but think I am correct in saying this) we get frustrated with the constant criticism of everything he does. When it is justified, fine. He has done many things that I do not agree with.
But the anti LvG brigade insinuate many more issues are related to LvG's ways and methods than is actually the the case.
Then when people question the motives of such posts, we get the whole "LvG lovers, apologist" comments. Some of the views are genuine I feel, but some come from.people with a very obvious agenda against the manager.
I, like others, respond to that. It is not because I think LvG is the best thing since sliced bread. Not because everything he does is correct. Not because I believe everything he says it true.
It is because I / we feel the need to defend him against those with that agenda.
For some, he can do no right. And because of that, the team also does mot get the credit it deserves at times. The whole situation is getting "poisoned" because of the venomous views of a few.
Just my opinion, and we all have our own. But I just wanted to highlight th fact that, just because some of us try to argue against injustice, it does not necessarily follow that we are all "100% pro LvG".

26 Sep 2015 15:01:21
betty
put your dummy back in .
some are pro some are anti some see the middle ground.
whats the issue ? which part of my post got on your wick?

26 Sep 2015 15:02:23
Spot on betty.

Stand I don't think di Maria or Falcao were lvg signings more a case of woody showing we could still attract that type of player even with no continental football.

Romero is a strange one but at the time most of us thought Dave the save was gone and Valdes too.

Blind and rojo are decent squad players.

So peps football isn't modern he needs a Muller or messi.
Do other managers not need top players?
And pep got all his ideas from lvg.
Not from being brought up at Barcelona and the ethos of the club that cruyff started?

It's all about lvg.
Where betty because these post get on my wick

26 Sep 2015 15:33:31
That should of been on the post further down the page about pep and lvg

26 Sep 2015 15:35:57

Does LVG look like the kind of guy who would accept a 100million of players as ornaments purchased for him by someone else. Now that is the such a stretch of someone arguing for him instead of saying accepted not great decisions. BTW Dimaria is a p. sy and i don't blame LVG for how he turned out, overrated and a bloody Diva.

26 Sep 2015 15:42:35
That's just my opinion gcu. He's had players foisted on him at clubs before. Di Maria might have been his idea but I remember one of the eds saying we were after a different player but got offered di Maria. Falcao I don't think was his signing at all.

26 Sep 2015 15:46:40
Jred both cruyff and van gaal came through Ajax. Both managed both Ajax and barca. I just think peps a bit over rated. He's been poor in the transfer market at both clubs. He was lucky to have messi.

26 Sep 2015 15:51:02
I don't like our style of football and it is very clear by what you read from the players everything is drilled and dictated to them and if you don"t do it his way you are in the gallows.

I also never advocated sacking him as it is a result orientated business and as long as he can bring us the results will persevere with him but not a fan. I also think he struggles to find answers when we are losing and for someone who thinks he is a master tactician he only has the fellaini plan which to me reminds me of the days when Duncan Fergusen used to play for Everton and hoof it upfield.

Having said that it is hard to watch 45 minutes of football like we have just completed against a team like Sunderland. In my opinion poor but then again I am sure people will see the positives in it and argue we are building towards something, which i am still waiting to see. BTW, we just scored but still a poor half.

26 Sep 2015 16:04:14
mort
van gaal was at ajax for 12 month and never played a game, so i'm not sure you can say he came through ajax
cruffy was a major influence on ajax

26 Sep 2015 16:09:54
Jred, the bit that I put in speach marks. If you cannot understand that, tough. It really is not challenging. You are so contradictory, taking the moral high ground and criticizing others when you do exactly that yourself.
Not even worth debating with because you are obviously correct, as always.
Right, now where's that dummy.

26 Sep 2015 16:29:54
Still came through the academy though. If anyone was an influence it was michels.

26 Sep 2015 16:39:34
Betty
Several of the things you put in speech marks I never said pal.
Mort
I thought he only joined at Ajax at 20 and left when he was 21

26 Sep 2015 17:19:06
Mort

I Believe at United no player joins unless sanctioned by the manager. Woodward is a corporate investment banker and deal maker and not a football man. Anyways great day and time for everyone to drink up :)

26 Sep 2015 20:14:03
Remember the saying by someone very great.

"we won't win anything under LVG"

Top of the league. sack him now before that idiot goes on to win it.
