Just read what Van Gaal has said about Wilson's situation. Someone had posted that Wilson did not want to go on loan but by the sounds of it, it's the opposite and he wants to go to get playing time and LVG has decided to wait till December before deciding and hinting at him getting some opportunities.

Agree0 Disagree0

very interesting because like you i did read on the site that wilson didn't want to go on loan.
i also read on this site that lvg was right not to give wilson a chance as he is not ready for first team football.

that said we all know october is a very easy month so maybe lvg will give wilson a game against one of the lesser teams like city or something .
throwing in him against the might of ipswich could of destroyed his confidence

I remember a month or so ago I guy came on here saying he was mates with a close pal of Wilson and that Wilson wanted to go out on loan, there was talk of Bolton. The guy seemed very clued up, saying Wilson was not impressed with his lack of opportunities.

:) a serious note, I think the reason we are reluctant to let him go on loan is what happens if Rooney does not kick on and continues his dry spell and Martial also stops scoring which is going to happen sooner or later and Then you wonder where are the goals going to come from.

I also think we are keeping him in case of an injury but then again I heard if we did loan him it was always going to be with an option to recall at any time.

It would be bit unfair to throw him into some of those games in October. I hope maybe against sunderland this weekend would be ideal to give him 30 minutes if we have the game under control.

Hope we come out of tomm without any injuries as wolfsberg will be tough.

thats one of the reasons why i would of played him against ipswich.
if he is not going out on loan he needs game time and that was the perfect game to give him a run out .

if rooney and martial got injured wilson would be thrown in with out kicking a ball for the first team all season .

he hasn't made the bench so far , so why not send him on loan

There's a hell of a lot going on in between those lines you've written jred ;)

Agree Sharham I think he's still here to cover injuries etc - although I did hear the same rumour regarding the clause. There's little doubt that a loan would be more beneficial than playing u21's, it's a shame we've left ourselves a bit light up top if that's the reason for keeping him. Let's hope he gets some action between now and the end of the season - whether that be with us or on loan at a later date.

I did not know ipswich made 10 changes and fielded a second string team with youngsters against us and Mcarthy has defended it decision by saying the championship game against Bristol was a priority. I agree he should go on loan with an option to be recalled as it will help his development compared to playing U21.

Beast ,

Wilson obviously not totally unhappy with his situation since he's signed on until 2019

Maybe LVG is being clever here.

Wilson is certainly a player for the future and management see him in a Utd shirt for many years to come imo. Therefore LVG may think that Wilson will learn a lot more from him and his methods. Potentially LVG wants to equip him with the right mentality/areas of focus before he goes out on loan or plays for the first team. There will be areas of his game that need work on and the manager probably thinks he can build Wilson into the perfect LVG striker, as opposed to the risk of sending him out to inferior coaching staff who have a different idea of how they want to use Wilson (just playing through balls with a big man next to him for example, which LVG doesn't want to do), etc.

Just an idea which may explain things.

Agree Beast- he is fast and strong but takes up strange positions that put him out of the game for periods. He , hopefully will learn to play to his strengths and go on to be a top player.

Great news about him signing till 2019. More money always puts a smile on young boys face:) On a serious note hopefully we get to see him develop into a top top striker. Martial, Wilson, Depay now that is a nice group of young players that can terrorise defences for years to come. Add Perreira and Janusaj in there and things look good IMO.

That group of youngsters excites me no end Sharham! Hopefully Shaw will be back stronger one day also.

Yeah forgot about that and also the midfielder who is dutch or belgian who everyone talks about making comparisons to Pogba. Name escapes me and gross who I have never either seems to be very highly thought of around here. Could be some stellar group of players in a few years. Blackett and Mcnair also in there so the future looks good and hope we invest more in the academy and capturing young talented players.
