Common sense is making informed decision and not based on what you think will please people. We have a manager who trains with his players day in and day out, how some of you guys on here actually believe you know better than he does is beyond me sometimes.

It's ok to make suggestions here and there but in the final analysis, it's the manager and his staff who determines who plays period. The arrogance of some of the posters on here is beyond comprehension sometimes. The idea that we are Manchester United and so all we have to do is to turn up and the 3 points will be ours is very naive if not pompous.

I subscribe to MUTV and I've been watching a lot of our games when Fergie was in charge and trust me, it wasn't the way some of you remembers it at all. Thanks to google, some of you guys are deluding yourself into thinking you know anything about coaching and tactics.

Most United supporters were happy with the team put out by the Manager last night but if you have an issue with LVG simply because he didn't play Wilson or your favourite player, then I suggest you get used to it.

im hitting my head against a wall right now.

so as fans what do we talk about ?

infact i give in

As fans, we can talk about anything we want but to make it look like we know better than those tasked with the duty of managing the players is plain stupid, especially when there's clear evidence that things are gradually improving.

Ghana,

I tend to agree that under Fergie it was nothing like a lot of people remember, especially towards the end, it is easy to look at highlights packages and think it was the best thing ever and we consistently played cavalier football, attack attack attack, but towards the end especially that was not the case.

I also agree with jred, what are we meant to talk about if we must be happy with everything? Most people would have expected Wilson to play last night, or at least be on the bench, so when he wasn't people will wonder why.

So a manager gets it right every time?

It's the same as saying the prime minister is the main man so he always knows what's best - ridiculous.

If this were the case nobody would ever be fired from their jobs.

GDS2, Don't get me wrong. I also would have liked if Wilson and Lingard played last night, however, I want to believe that the coaching staff knows better than I do simply because they are privy to certain information that is not available to some of us. It's comments like " I can't comprehend why LVG will say he doesn't need Wilson and Lingard" that gets to me.

Beast, I never said the manager is always right or can't be criticised. My point is that when it comes to which player is fit to play, the manager and coaching staff knows best. Remember that last season when we still had Falcao and Van Persie around, the coach was still playing Wilson.

You can twist my words any which way you want to but we all know some of you on here will never see anything positive in what LVG does and that is also fine. There's been numerous occasions this season when I've had to scream in front of the television out of frustration but at the same time, I'm willing to accept that its not all doom and gloom as others want us to believe.

Sorry I was referring to the posts by Ghana.

I would have liked to see Wilson involved tbh.
I also have no issue with people making positive or negative posts.
But I also believe that when it comes to youth players specifically we fans come at it from a point of ignorance compared with the manager and coaches - at best we watch them at U21 level which is nowhere near first team standard. The coaches see him every day and have better experience at making these judgements - so I think it's a relevant point that we should have some faith when it comes to youth players in particular.

It's easier for us to make judgements on first teamers who we watch playing at the relevant level, from week to week.
There must be a reason the coaches/manager decided Pereira was ready but Wilson not? If I were a journo that's the question I would ask.

Jred don't give in man! :) You used to battle Syd for days upon end and never gave up, loved reading those debates lol

You've made the point recently that some posters just aren't happy because we brought in players, just not the players those posters wanted - using Martial as an example (rather than buying Lewandowski, Griezmann or whatever).

Is it not relevant to point out that some posters are unhappy because LvG didn't play the youngster they wanted? Does the fact he played Pereira not suggest that he's happy to play youth just perhaps he doesn't rate them in the same way as some poster's?

Beast and GDS2, so you don't get confused, Spartan is my other username. Spartan and Ghana are the same person, lol

{Ed007's Note - Thanks for that, both those accounts have now been deleted and your IP has been blocked from posting. Silly boy.}

hb
to be honest i don't really care he didn't play it was just a topic to talk about .
should we of give him a game , i think so .
does it matter we didn't , not really .

my main point and gripe is it again turned into a lvg debate.

lvg this lvg that , jesus it was a simple topic . i would of liked to of seen wilson on the bench and given a chance .
why ? because i am interested to see how he would of got on .
i enjoyed watching pereira it would of been good to see wilson as well.

but you have to be careful because if people think your having a go at lvg

rant over
on the bright side that's the rooney debate done. lvg made him captain and the first name in the team.
so did the england manager .
and the club made him one of the highest paid players in the world.

so best united player , best england player and one of the best in the world 😉

That's more like it jred!

Like I said I also would have liked to seen Wilson but felt the need to play devils advocate yest as there are better people than me at our club to judge youth progression (not necessarily the manager either so don't start lol). I'm delighted for Pereira and hope to see Wilson have a similar experience at some stage.

The site has become a little divisive but I'll personally try not to get so caught up in that going forward (although I just can't resist a bit of sarcasm here and there!) and hope other's may follow suit. We do get hot headed at times here but it's only because we're all passionate about United.

The Rooney debate will never end though and you know it :)

Now, smokes let's go!

Love it jred!

I have only one thing to ask, is Manu not a derogatory term? Grrrr
