Firstly I would just like to comment on this new trend of posting futile one liners after a game by pro LVG apologists aimed at other folk on the page. I find them trivial, uninspiring and pointless. Does it make you feel you have scored some sort of points? At least when others critique the team and the manager they give valid explanations rather than post menial little digs but if that's what gets your sad little rocks off I am pleased for you.

My first reaction to any result, win, draw or lose, is that of the team and how they played on the pitch yet I feel some on here's first reaction is 'yes I can now make a sarcastic comment about how some folk don't like the manager'. This I find the ultimate hypocritical fallacious intention considering I - as a labeled LVG hater on here - doesn't even give the manager a thought until I evaluate the entire match. Ironic? Very much so.

Anyway, was very glad to see Parreria get the nod and play well last night. I would have liked to have seen Wilson also in this game and I feel his pace could have worried Ipswich but I was glad to see at least one of our top prospects do well. Young Martial is certainly swiftly stepping out of obscurity and making a name for himself and I couldn't be happier for the lad. I hope he keeps up the good work and the goals keep on coming. Good result and another good draw against Boro.

Looking forward to the weekend and hopefully some lads who played well last night get rewarded with a spot in the side.

Compared to last year when certain posters rushed in here during games never mind afterwards to slate the team and the manager? And still do.

The neg heads almost killed this page last year due to the constant whining as many of the more positive posters ended up taking breaks. Some still haven't come back.

Mr pot meet mr kettle.

24 Sep 2015 14:09:54
I'm getting good at this , I can now tell it's a JMB post by halfway through the first line . It must be that classic mix of arrogance and condescension .

24 Sep 2015 14:09:59
Oh look Maze can't complain about the manager or the game or the manager or the team or the manager or the performance or the manager, so he has to complain about the posters who dare to post banter on a banter site.

I suggest you look up the term banter, it is supposed to be a light hearted dig at each other. Don't take yourself or your opinions to seriously or you'll have a very disappointing life.

The number of negative posts that get posted up every single day, what kind of response do you expect? The more you argue against something the stronger the response will be. When certain posters post the same thing day after day after day they will set themselves up as a target.

Just take it on the chin. If you don't want to read something don't. I do skip or skim through posts that I have little or no interest in. Comment on the things you want to and don't be surprised if someone has a different opinion to you.

So what your saying Mort is it is ok for folk to whinge about realist posters giving constructive arguments then when it suits them they can snipe at those same with pointless comments?

Very good.

People saying Wilson should have and a game in this sort of fixture is common sense. People who support LVG seem to react to everything even common sense stuff. Al this delirium is a bit of a laugh for me as who have we exactly played and where are they in the league?

I am never one to rub int in when things go wrong but can understand why the other side does it, both should chill and keep it cordial and mature.

I still believe this team creates very little and all the possession is a bit deceiving. We shall see if we can continue on this sort of form and keep picking up points. I believe not but hope I am wrong.

100% pal, i tried to discuss yesterday a simple question " should wilson get a run out tonight ".
and all you get is lvg this lvg that .

its not possible to talk about anything with out people blaming the manager or defending him .

also if i had of asked the question a week or so ago , should wilson get a game against ipswich , i have a feeling most people would of said yes

24 Sep 2015 15:11:05
surely without the negative/positive posts the site wouldn't really work. the whole idea is to hear different opinions whether you agree or not. there are some on here who are too negative but there also people on here who are far too positive , but all opinions make for a good read if nothing else

24 Sep 2015 14:59:06
Totally agree Jred. I said in a post yesterday I hoped Parreria played last night against lower oppostion but was then construed as me having a go at LVG for not using youth players. Then when he did play there is sarcastic comments down the page of "thought Parreria wasn't playing" and "LVG doesn't use youth". Childish.

24 Sep 2015 15:17:48
Jred

The site is putting people into anti LVG or pro LVG no matter what.

Difficult o even have a discussion on anything as it is construed as being anti LVG.

It's funny when we win a game everyone is euphoric and takes a stab at people who don't necessarily see things as they do and when we lose one the same crowd comes out and says oh don't overreact and it was expected and people should be calm about it.

Reading some of the stuff after beating a championship side at home makes you believe we just beaten one of Europes elites to book our place in the semis of CL lol.

In my mind Manchester United being who we are and what we have spent in the last 2 years is expected to dispose of the likes of ipswich and people need to raise their expectations. Of course many will construe this as a anti LVG post :)

24 Sep 2015 15:28:34
A 100% agree jred, I would of had him starting and was suprised he didn't to be honest, good to see Pereira get a run out, I missed the game though did he play well? I see the goal what a free kick!

24 Sep 2015 15:35:34
gcu
that sums up my feelings .
ctr
yer i thought he played well

24 Sep 2015 15:44:03
Good stuff I have high hopes for the lad.

24 Sep 2015 15:44:41
Jred, gcu. I never mentioned Wilson and personally I would have had him on the bench with a run out of 30 or so minutes. But the coaching staff obviously felt differently.

24 Sep 2015 15:45:51
Maze, I read the first line of the OP, and knew it was you, mate :)

24 Sep 2015 15:53:31
I'm not totally convinced with Lvg either but happy with the team winning right now. LVG is our manager, we WILL play our possession style football whether we lik it or not. Whining continuously about won't change jack bloody shit. Also I'm not saying we aren't allowed to question LVG absolutely not but i think everything regarding this has been talked about on numerous occasions.
It's just plain and simple sad that someone exciting as Anthony martial scoring 4 goals in 4 games has less posts dedicated to him than our possession which again has been talked about since forever.
Anyways jred I think Wilson should have been part of the squad at least last night shame he wasn't. Well we'll see how things progress on that front, in the mean time wt are your thoughts on Memphis and martial?

24 Sep 2015 16:07:04
I have to admit that I've seen nothing of Wilson in youth or reserves but when I've seen him in the first team he hasn't looked that great IMO. Perhaps he's not quite ready for the first team yet. I'm sure the manager who sees him day in and day out is best placed to make that call.
As for LVG I have mixed opinions on him. I get really frustrated at some of the slow paced football and the lack of cutting edge but I also enjoy watching us dominate possession and control of the games tempo (when we speed things up). I hope that once we introduce more pace we will see faster, more incisive football. Fellani is starting to look poor again so maybe this is a reflection of our recent improvement.
So at times I think LVG is doing a good job, building for the future and other times I think he's a stubborn dinosaur who should be instantly replaced. and I reserve the right to change my opinion on a game by game (and sometimes half by half) basis:-). I always hate the fact that he never gets out of his seat during a game though!

24 Sep 2015 16:08:48
Maze

On your last two paragraphs of the OP, I would agree on Pereira, he deserves a chance but I wonder if Wilson is not training well. Where a team sits back there is no space usually for pacy players to run into, hence it may not have been the right game for Wilson.

24 Sep 2015 16:22:04
redman
martial is really struggling with his pace when teams sit back

24 Sep 2015 16:32:56
I Disagree jred, think martial has been ok rather than struggling when teams sit back but he also has the body strength and finishing to back him up which Wilson seems to lack

24 Sep 2015 16:43:18
Wilson is raw, our team doesn't create a massive amount of goal scoring chances, therefore we need to be clinical when we get them.

When Wilson has been in the first team he generally makes more wrong decisions than right ones. He is caught offside far to often which results in us losing possession.

He needs a loan. He needs games at a higher standard than Under 21 level but isn't ready for our first team. If the squad wasn't so short of options upfront I'm sure he would be on loan now.

24 Sep 2015 18:33:47
Agreed maze, jred, strebor gcu and red man. I think we all need to continue discussing all topics. No one's view is positive or negative. They're just our views, the site will be boring if we all had the same views.
I think lvg got the selection right and the team played well. And good to see pereira and martial on the scoresheet.
Re jred's perfectly acceptable question on whether Wilson should've played, I think lvg seems to have lost a bit of confidence in Wilson for the moment, but I'm sure Wilson will improve and force himself back into the reckoning. Wilson in my opinion, is not ready for the first team and his first touch is a bit clumsy. Hopefully that'll improve and he'll be an asset to our club,

24 Sep 2015 18:42:25
i can't help but think that if i asked the question a couple of week ago , should we give wilson a chance in the league cup , even of the bench , the reply of some would of been different .

i hope his on the bench on saturday

24 Sep 2015 18:42:41
sch
i agree pal

24 Sep 2015 19:18:24
Jred a few weeks ago we didn't have martial so you might well have gota different answer. Since then Wilson had fallen further down the pecking order. He will get his chance a) when the coaching staff believe he has earned it. B) when he he improves.
We need to win a trophy and are not in as strong a position as a few years back where we took this competition more lightly and used it as a trial for our youth. Imo we must go all out to win it getting a trophy in the cabinet in feb would perhaps drove is on to win more. Winning breeds winning no doubt about that. Imo it was more important to give rooney, martial mata and depay more confidence than it was to give Wilson a run.

i don't care about the league cup and if martial had of got injured last night i would of been gutted

by the way you should have a look at what butt and giggs have been saying about wilson

24 Sep 2015 23:06:00
I blame LVG
just saying :-)

The discussion was about Wilson and by what I have read about him everyone says he is head and shoulder above the 21s squad. Not long ago we were talking about this kid breaking out and being that young striker for the future. The amount of times I have seen him he is raw but he is also quick and not scared to take a shot and a bit selfish, which is what I like in a striker.

The whole point was the league cup is where you give these guys a chance to play and granted make their share of mistakes especially if you are playing 8 or 9 first team regulars at home against a championship side. That should be platy of quality on the pitch to give the boy a run out.

Unfortunately a simple view is construed as being anti LVG. The season is long and we will have setbacks, people need to be a bit more mature and stop taking cheap shots at each other.

The season is long and for me the first check on the scorecard is where we are in the league after 15 games and qualification from our CL group. Beating Ipswich at home not a measure of anything for me unfortunately and expected.

I repeat I do have some concerns but don't want to get into it as people will take everything as pro or anti LVG.
