Quiet on here since deadline day, international football has taken the limelight away from club football since then but it's back next weekend, so are we expecting bragging rights over our bitter rivals Saturday guys?

Neither team has been great but I think we have probably been slightly better, and on paper we have the better team so I really think we should win this one. Also they won't have coutinho which is massive for them

I think a cagey 1-0 is on the cards. I'm hoping we get to see Martial, slightly worried about Benteke against Blind but we should have too much for them.

If I was Rodgers I'd be instructing them to get early crosses in for Benteke, we might struggle with his power and height against Daley Blind, not sure they play with wingers, tho Moreno would start if I was them and Ibe too, maybe ed001 knows if Liverpool intend on playing width this game or season?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt it, that is not the Rodgers' way.}

Great minds eh Beast and I was also thinking 1-0 ha. Can only be a good thing for us if they play narrow intricate stuff cz I think we might dominate possession as always, just see if we can create anything with it. What you think the outcome will be Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I don't do predictions mate, it is bad luck and I am extremely superstitious.}

After watching liverpools games this season I'd be disappointed not to put at least 2 past them.

The defence looks all over the place and once they attack they leave holes that we should be able to exploit.

Liverpool look well out of sorts at the moment and with the added bonus of coutinho being unavailable we should be looking at a comfortable win. Going on moon's fantastic analysis about LVGS set up, we should be able to stretch a team like Liverpool

06 Sep 2015 11:07:23
Liverpool usually only play with 1 striker so I would hope smalling would be marking Benteke and just leave blind to pick up the runners I would prefer rojo to play. Still think we'll win.

06 Sep 2015 11:25:40
Sure thing WRD.

Nach - I would have thought this pre-Swansea, but for some reason the CB's remained static and didn't switch when Gomis moved, hence the trouble he caused. Hopefully LVG will instruct Smalling to stick to Benteke, however I doubt he will make this obvious move.

I have a bad feeling this will end a bore draw. Hope i'm wrong though. With coutinho out and their defence not being great i feel we can really punish them if we attack from the start

06 Sep 2015 11:38:52
Ed01, even though I can't stand jonjo shelvey,he has come on as a player,I'm just wandering how did Liverpool let him go,did they get rid of him or did he want out.ive reAd a few stories but thought you might know what really happened.

{Ed001's Note - Swansea came in with a bid, Liverpool gave him the option to go or stay, Gerrard tried to convince him to stay but he thought it was better for his career to leave and play regularly.}

I fully expect us to beat that mob.

I hope we use the system we used when we destroyed them last season.

06 Sep 2015 12:27:12
I'm with trumours on this one. We will only score one goal and with benteke/blind mismatch, they'll score one also. Lucky coutinho is out as they would have beaten us with him in the team.

06 Sep 2015 14:05:09
Yes ed I know what you mean, I never do a bet that involves united either, don't want to jinx us.

06 Sep 2015 16:31:20
Who do we all expect to be in goal for this one? I know I'd feel a lot more confident with De Gea between the sticks.

06 Sep 2015 17:05:40
I think he will go Romero, just to try and prove a point.

06 Sep 2015 18:21:03
If he does, and it backfires.

{Ed004's Note - I am hoping we play like we did last season against them with one holding player instead of two and have two box to box midfielders. Ideally Schweinsteiger (like he did for Germany the other night) dropping deep to almost play as a 3rd cb with Schneiderlin and Herrera either side}

06 Sep 2015 21:10:15
Totally agree, Ed. don't ever think we should be playing with two holding midfielders at home.

{Ed004's Note - I would understand it if we were up against Barcelona or Madrid were we are solely looking to hit them on the counter but we are far too negative atm}
