Looking back at Reus, he's quite an injury prone player. Makes you wonder if he's got ongoing injury problems that have to be managed. Cracking player but potentially another Hargreaves in the making. Maybe this is the other issue ED002 was on about.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with - try and avoid clutching at straws. Reus was not going to be moving to MU.}

GCU - I have to agree with you. A manager is only as good as the decisions he takes and the results he achieves. He has encouraged the spending of obscene amounts of money, even net, and it is at least arguable that several of his spending decisions have been wrong eg Di Maria, Falcao. To leave the striker situation bare this summer is culpable and lead to the biggest gamble of all with Martial and his choices of team formations last season were understandable only on the basis that he was stubbornly not prepared to modify his view to accord with the strengths of the team members.
Maybe he was the best available last year, but in the last window,he failed to attract a new and superior Central defender and gambled on a tyro striker who must need time to acclimatise to the PL. So he has a lot to prove this season. Finishing 4th is not good enough, but will need the help of the teams to achieve that modest goal, givden the extra demands arising from mid-week CL games.
(Yes, I am probably a pessimist, but an improved defensive mid-field simply reduces the likelihood of defeat (though tell Swansea that) but does not improve goal-scoring that wins matches.
