I'd say we had a good window overall, though it's disappointing we couldn't get a real marquee signing. Schweinsteiger doesn't count for me, he's not the player he use to be. Though the Martial fee is a bit high, I still think it could be good business and the ABU press reaction is just typical. It is a £36m fee but the add ons only kick in if he wins the ballon D'or/is top scorer in the league/we win the league. If any of those happen then i'd happily spend a few extra million!
Ed, there have been stories now that Real will refuse to do any business with United going forward. Is that true? Bale would likely become impossible then.

Of course that isn't true, think about it logically, it would make no sense for them not to do business with us if we were the highest bidder for any player.

Why should RM refuse to do business with us when they extracted a King's Ransom for Di Maria and scuppered the deal with De Gea. If anything, we should think very carefully about doing business with them.
