Hi guys,
Liverpool fan here.
Not that I'm just trying to aggravate all youse, but has this de Gea paperwork balls-up not been an absolute disaster for you all.
Put simply:
*You're left with a player who quite clearly wants to be elsewhere, so you'd have to question whether his heart will be in playing for Unjted this season
*You haven't now brought in a replacement keeper, meaning if de Gea isn't at it, you'll have to have Romero as your starter, and he didn't look brilliant on Sunday did he?
*De Gea will most likely leave next summer for free and thus you've lost out on £30m and a quality keeper in keeping him against his will for a season
*This, and the Ramos and Bale 'sagas' have just proved, however big you think you are as a club, Real Madrid are a more attractive Club than Manchester United

I think it's great to get one over Real Madrid, wether it was meant or not it's worth the 30 mil,now toddy wouldn't you love if Liverpool could afford to do this.plus I think the navas deal went through.

I think you should worry about your own team mate.you have spent loads on average players and got put to the sword by West Ham in your own back yard!

Unlike your lot we can afford to lose out on £18m. I feel bad for DDG - but love the thought of the fat Spanish waiter being left red faced by United again.

Personally I don't see DDG playing for us again if he ends up staying (I still think it will go through in the morning) - but that said - it's the Euros next year - and to that end he might not have a choice if he wants to be first choice for Spain. If we were to offer him £200k a week with a £40m release clause in the contract - who knows what might happen?

Toddy the papers and radio and TV have basically been talking about only one Club this transfer window. And guess what it ain't Looserpool. Man Utd will probably not win the premier league title this year nor the champions league but even if your lot could (which as we know is an impossibility seeing as you are not in the champions league) we would still be the biggest club in the UK if not the world. Honestly hand on heart I believe we will return to the top of the pile here in the UK within a few years. It won't necessarily be with this exact team or manager but the foundations are being built for another sustained period of success. I don't think that can be said of your team. I like Brendan Rodgers think he is a decent man but feel he will fall short getting you back to the top. He reminds me of a cross between Wenger and Rangers ie stubborn persistence in his ideas contrary to all the evidence in front of him mixed with tinkering for no apparent reason

Thanks toddy for your worries.

Rodgers is the only problem we have, the club have the players in place to fight at the top, biased hand on heart, we just need a top level manager to pick the right ones and adapt the team sufficiently dependent on the opposition we face.
Also I didn't ever claim we are bigger than you right now, although by rights us two and Arsenal should remain among the biggest clubs in world football, streets aged of Chelsea, City and Spurs, but you're nowhere near the level of a Barca or Real Madrid, in terms of international standing
