When De Gea goes I don't think somebody else will be signed.

I think we'll go Johnstone as number one with Romero as number 2.

Agree1 Disagree2

When he was taken on tour LVG had a very good opportunity to look at him intensively, and obviously thinks he's a top talent! Well done Sam!

i think johnstone is half the player ddg is .
has very little experiance and throwing him behind a suspect back 4 is asking for trouble .

07 Aug 2015 15:34:54
Or we are signing either lloris or cillesen once de gea is sold? If we signed one of them now we would be losing a lot of negotiation power with madrid, LVG has made no secret that he doesn't agree the window shouldn't be open once the season starts as this can end up happening. Johnstone looked great on tour, but he will not be the number 1 this season, you can bet on that.

ronnie
does lvg not like to give the young players a chance on tour .
lets be honest ddg was 1 romero was no2.
do we play the young lad with no top flight experiance who played for doncaster and preston last year .
or the argentina number 1

gds
what club in there right mind would sell the gk now.
i just can't see spurs letting lloris go now .
is cillesen cup tied ?

07 Aug 2015 16:07:05
No Cillesen isn't cup tied

07 Aug 2015 16:24:20
No Jred the early qualifiers do not cup tie anybody in cl this season,
Ddg has to go and the sooner the better. Its like a poison having him around the squad. I think RM are treating him poorly and they should submit an acceptable bid as I understand it no bid has been made for any amount. They have no class at all IMO I admire ed for trying to stand up to them and I believe he is doing it for the right reasons if he believes he can get Ramos/bale/benzema in rtn . I just hope it does not turn out to be counter productive, but I trust Ed as he knows RM need to raise funds.

In some sort of perverted way it begs the question who is doing more damage to the club right now ddg or di Maria, both want out just as much, sure di Maria took the hard and fast route but made it happen quickly which suited all 3 parties but ddg hasn't got the balls to do that IMO. I bet the manager and directors have more respect for di Maria at this time than they do for ddg

ken
madrid always get there man.
its was nuts imo to try and keep ddg he can sign for madrid in jan so his mind was never going to be 100%.

07 Aug 2015 16:57:40
Ken, you're assuming RM have made a bid, do we know they have?

07 Aug 2015 17:28:34
if rm haven't it tells a story .
just wait and wait untill the price comes down.
which it will if ddg makes it clear he wants to go and doesn't want to play for united.

07 Aug 2015 17:13:19
It sounds crazy, but there's something about Johnstone and with Van Gaal saying that De Gea won't start against Spurs and then failing to confirm whether Romero will, it just seems like Johnstone might have a chance.

07 Aug 2015 19:09:41
Ajh please read the post again, I clearly state I understand rm have made no bid. So where to you get that I Make that assumtion?

07 Aug 2015 20:10:42
JRed, Sam Johnstone HAS potential the same as DDG Had potential when he first arrived! Real Madrid NOW WANT DE GEA! Get my point!? We have a very good goalkeeping coach which got de GEA where he is now! Who's to say Johnstone won't be as good? He's 22 for gods sake!

07 Aug 2015 20:11:24
I think we have completely mismanaged the goal keeping position and surely will play Romero before paling a young kid.

Not sure what is going on with Valdes and his signing and romero's are very strange decisions looking at things now and how they stand and if Johnstone plays tomm.
