Long time reader but first time poster.
This is going to sound so far fetched that it could actually be true (more likely not though)
The mystery signing that LVG referred to could in all actuality be Lionel Messi. Bare with me on this one
Uniteds deal with Adidas starts from the 1st Aug, the deal we have with them is a world record fee over 10 years. The influx of this money effectively pays the buy out clause of 250m Euro for Messi and would put him in the shirt of his sponsors rather than the Nike of Barca.
Utd have recently let RVP and Falcao go, this saves close to 500k per week in wages.
Barca would more than likely be happy with the astronomical fee as well.
LVG stated last January that Messi would be a target but the papers played it down thinking he was messing about with them (Probably was) He also stated that the papers have not linked us with the player (Who in their right mind would)
Utd wouldn't announce the deal until all reference of Nike is removed from the club on 1st Aug
LVG recently said he might not buy a striker, Messi is not one
More than likely this is complete codswallop but it could actually prove to be correct

Hulmer, we can all dream, but there is more chance of me platting fog! It hink we can buy the whole of Barca, Real and Bayern teams put together before we have a 1 in a billion chance of signing Messi.

Only way any of us would see messi in a united shirt is by playing season mode on FIFA and customising the team before hand.
The bloke is ridiculous. !
As for bale. Maybe next year after the Real Madrid faithful give him another load of abuse this season.
