Pep as much as i respect everyones opinion i think we disagree on this one. I think he will bring calming experience to our midfield where i expect him to play alongside carrick and herrera. He is a very intelligent footballer who in my opinion will provide the stability of taking over carricks role when he is injured (with more licence to be further forward when alongside carrick). that's not to say schneiderlin still isn't possible and i agree he would be a good buy. The only thing i wonder now though is if we will agree a fee for morgan or leave it and see how u21 midfielders develop in the couple of years we get out of schweinsteiger. I think if this deal goes through it is a very shrewd bit of business.

So we are happy to take big clubs rejects now! If he can't get in the buyern team anymore then how can he be the top class midfielder we need! We need to sign players that everyone wants, players that make a difference week in week out for there clubs! Players that people wish they could have in there team and it's just not happening or going to happen. We can't get teams best players anymore! I know very very few will agree with me here and that's fine but lads who have been united fans as long as I have will understand! If you are a younger chap then you'll be clicking disagree and thinking he's having a laugh ! I'm just sad we can't attract the best anymore

ya Pep Carrick has been past his best for four years now, and that is why he was such a benchwarmer. Or we brought Scholes from retirement because Anderson was making that bench his own.

Pep. We spent £27m on wig. And now we're buying one of the all time best German midfielders who has minimum of 3 years at the top for £5.75m and you're complaining?!
Of course we still need to buy schneiderlin, but to say schweini is past his best is a ridulous statement.

I agree he isn't the player most of us remember anymore, but he is still a vast improvement in what we have and more importantly what we need. A disciplined, inspirational leader in midfield, we have been crying out for this for ages.
Great signing, intelligent and likeable guy and will make a lot of players who may have dismissed our interest to think we seriously mean business. Good work Woody and LVG if this comes off.

I was of the same opinion as peppiggs sorry for spelling that schweinsteiger was past his best but I watched a all of his highlights from last season and he was mighty impressive strong as an ox and he can shift still he scored 5 goals with 8 assists in all competitions and he only played 65% of bayern games that's not bad for a 30 year old still think we need schneiderlin as well just to shore the midfield up so our attacking players can go and express themselves properly
