Sheesh mate, who says we were interested? If we were interested in everyone in the press we would be trying to sign about 20 players. The vast majority of what is written on websites and in papers is complete bull. I remember people on here saying Clyne was a done deal and there he is now signing for Liverpool. Having said that I can't believe we let Milner go to Liverpool and I can't understand why he chose them over us. And Cech, what was he thinking? He could have come to us yet he chose to go to Arsenal (see what I did there?). Maybe I'm older than some of you but it is the same every year, the press throw hundreds of names about and when one sticks they say 'told you so'. Complete and utter nonsense.

According to skysports news yellow bar a few weeks back we had an agreement in place to sign gundogan. We were definitely interested in him at some point and Turans agent claimed we were, although I'm not stupid just a few people saying we were one of the club's he could choose from. if we weren't interested in either then why? Why wouldn't we be interested in either, both would get in the team that finished the season last year in my opinion

So up to now we have lost out on Firmino, Clyne, Ings, Milner, Turan, Cech and Nathan, and we are likely to lose out on Carvalho, Ramos, Pogba, Vidal, Coleman, Muller, Schweinsteiger, Hummels, Schneiderlin, Otamendi and Gaitan. Not to mention Gundogan wants to stay at a mid table German side rather than come to us. I know it is only the 1st July, but we are well and truly screwed! I'd take top 8 right now tbh :-(

Let's all calm down. I am sure,some of the players we have been linked with by the media were of interest. just because they go elsewhere does not mean we were snubbed. For all we know we may have snubbed them (as looks likely with Clyne) yet because we once looked at them it is a snub.
Remember Lvg stated he would work on list A. then move to list B and if necessary list C!!
Lots of players out there. also Turan did not please most people on here anyway (I thought he would be great!!!)

I mean for Gawds sake. If all we have in our team is shite players like Rooney, Mata, Herrera, Carrick, Depay, Fellaini, Di Maria, Young, Shaw, Smalling, Jones, and Rojo, to name the most pathetic of them, we're headed for the Championship, if you ask me.
When does the window close? 1st September. Two months, that's all. It'll be gone before we know it. Everyone our excessively talkative management is interested in, according to the very reliable Fabricazzi, has already committed to someone else. It's an unmitigated disaster. Superb stars, many of whom I've never heard of, and who, it appears, are often linked with us just so we can be shown to have lost out on signing them, even though we were never interested in them in the first place, are shunning us in droves. It's hammer blow upon hammer blow. Gundogan and Turan in one day. I was so looking forward to a potential midfield of "ans" - Gaitan, Turan and Gundogan.
It's no wonder we United fans are venting our fury at the departure of Saidy Janko.

We get linked to hundreds of players, we show interest in quite a few but that doesn't mean we want them all at the end of the day - most fall by the wayside e.g. We didn't even bid for Clyne so what does that tell us? We certainly didn't "miss out" on him although I'm sure we showed some interest at some point during the season. Things change for all sorts of reasons.
I get the feeling most clubs were put off Gundogan due to fitness, form and price. In fact Ed002 suggested as much.
Who knows what happened with Turan, he gets hawked around each year and linked to a number of clubs. I didn't feel we needed him at all and would have been surprised to see him at OT.
I do hope we make headway on some signings during the next couple of weeks but let's not get dramatic every time a player signs for another club, just because he was one of a hundred players linked to us on twitter/in tabloids.
