Interesting article in the Fail saying that Varla may be the answer to the right back challenge. He's only 21 but we loaned him to Real Madrid last year and he played 33 games for their B team. Rave reviews apparently.

I always liked him Tony, and thought he looked very promising. But I thought I read on here somewhere, that he was leaving the club.
Of course, I might just have made that up.

I'm sure ed002 said he was signing for Real permanently. Maybe it wasn't actually signed n sealed and we've had a change of heart, who knows.

I thought he played in our reserves the season before this? Did well but had a hampered season due to having to go home for family issues?
Unless I'm thinking of someone else.
If I am right I thought he looked like he had more to his game than Janko, who looked to depend on pace and power above all else when I saw him (although some on here rated him and will have seen more than me).

He did, Gav. I'd like to let spb think I was doing some real, in depth scouting a la Shappy or Moon, but every game was on MUTV :)
