This game feels like a funeral to me, the death of Liverpool FC - welcome to the permanent world of mid-table obscurity.

The tears we see today will be the tears of realisation that what they have left and where they are heading is not an attractive thought.

Haha brilliant

I have to agree Beast, now that Liverpool are losing him they know it's an end of an era. What a player Glen Johnson was.

Hahahahaha Brill 😂😂

GD Beast et al what is so "brilliant?" Steven Gerard was a great player. I only wish he had been born up the road from me in Stretford. In that case you would all be in tears right now! Respect the guy for being the great player he was and stop being so moronic. Christ, you're like kids.

Think your on the wrong page mate :)

Gerrard was a great player, just like Liverpool was a great club. Get a grip Patrick, it's football, we have rivalries. What has Gerrard ever done for Man Utd?

Their club is in turmoil, Gerrard leaving only compounds that - this was my point and it doesn't upset me, but it sure is upsetting for them.

Beast you are a moron. This is all about RESPECT for one of the greatest players of the PL era. No matter who he plays for. Oh, it's Liverpool - our great rivals . Jesus it's like being back on the playground.

I fear the day I can't enjoy a chuckle at the expense of Liverpool and yes Gerrard was indeed a wonderful footballer who will be missed by all British football fans, however we have all witnessed legends leave from our own club and got a bit teary while all opposition fans have laughed at our expense. Even Jamie is winding up Gary on mnf about David De Gea leaving.

So Patrick as far as being "moronic" and being "kids" goes I think you will find that name calling is the most childish form of attack on this site .

16 May 2015 20:24:15
Patrick this is a banter site, yes Gerrard for Liverpool was fantastic but it's all banter as I'm sure on the Liverpool page they have relished in our darker periods and slated our players, it's a rivalry and it's part of the banter, don't be so uptight about it.

16 May 2015 20:40:21
I'm sure Beast doesn't need me to stick up for him, but I'm pretty sure, Patrick, he didn't even mention Gerard in his OP. It was the decline of Liverpool he was commenting on.

I'm 44 and consider myself quite grown-up, but I've been winding up my Liverpool mates mercilessly all day. I would expect no less from them if the positions were reversed.

It doesn't detract from thinking he was a good player.

16 May 2015 21:25:18
Patric I will not miss him one bit

17 May 2015 11:09:46
Dean 1210 you are quite right; name calling is childish. I apologise for that. I have been supporting United since 1957 and am well aware of the "rivalry" between ourselves and Liverpool- but especially City! It's just that now and again there comes along a rather special player, a player who by his own efforts can destroy the opposition - Best in Lisbon, Keane in Turin, Gerrard in Istanbul. I just thought the guy deserved a little respect - despite the rivalry.
Anyway, I'm getting my zimmer out and going down to sink a few! Have a great day!
Patrick

{Ed025's Note - enjoy yourself paddy...and dont forget your incontinent knickers mate.. :)

17 May 2015 12:24:22
No need to apologise mate and I completely agree on Gerrard he was a great player I just couldn't resist a little giggle at Liverpool as a whole . They are a car crash atm and I must admit I am enjoying it quite a lot 😈
