With all the hostility in Syria, sorry - i mean this site ;) I thought i'd spark up something I don't think we've talked about before.

There have been many players who it was thought were going to go on, to become sensational players, but got injured, which ended their career or hampered their careers.

My question is, if you could have signed any one of them before their injury (and it may have turned out differently), who would you pick?

For me, without a doubt it has to be Ronaldo (Fenomeno) who, although was still a sensational player, it's said he would have been twice the player had he not picked up a bad injured early in his career.

I watched him play in the first game Brazil played after winning the 2002 world cup, world class players littered through the team, but you couldn't take your eyes off him. A player i'd have loved to have played for us.

I have to agree on Ronaldo too. To be honest, he and Zidane are probably the two players I would of loved to see play for us.

For us - Hargreaves (just what we needed)
Overall - Gazza as well.

Danny Pugh obviously, probably a bit too ahead of his time. If he was playing in 4035, he'd be lauded as the best four limbed player of his generation.
