Haven't bothered posting all day because I didn't want to interrupt Beast!

But I just wanted to say that I think Stevie (Noucamp99) made a very good point down the page about fans being "snobs" about players from so called smaller teams.
I agree 100%.
With the transfer window coming up , we will again be linked with dozens 9f players. All the "world class" ones will be "exactly what we need" , while lots will be labeled as "not good enough" because they play for non glamorous teams.
I am not suggesting that McCarthy of Everton should be our main summer signing , but the principle is the same.
Building a successful team is about signing the right players for the team , not the most expensive
2 years ago I said on here I'm though Schneiderlin would be a good signing , ,but with a couple of exceptions , that idea was shit down because he was an average player playing for little Southampton.
While we all want the top players playing for United , I think we should be , as Stevie put it , a little less snobbish about some players. There are some very good players out there who are just waiting to be turned into superstars.
We have a history of making stars. We also have a pretty dodgy history of signing them.

I don't think we are too far of challenging for the top honours again. But that depends in probably 4 or 5 good signing in the next transfer window or 2.
Those signings have to be right for the team , not the ones with the biggest price tags

ha ha ha. SHOT down!!

Couldn't agree more Swollocks. It seems a name is more important to some folk than the lad fitting into the jersey these day. I don't care what anyone says McCarthy and Coleman would walk into our first team at the moment. I still feel some fans have it out for Felliani because he came from Everton rather than Madrid.

It's summed up pretty well by the fans who don't want us to sign Danny Ings because he ply's his trade with Burnley and doesn't have a ultra groovy name, yet the same fans are still championing Di Maria and Falcao at every opportunity.

I like McCarthy but don't think on the back of one game he should be signed.

I think most would like Coleman but understand the price would be huge.

I'd take ings.

I think we should get Ings, at 22 what else could go wrong? He's young still learning and playing at much higher level just might bring the best out of him as well? Oh, he is on a free too? No Brainer!

Not on the back of one game Chris, he has been superb for Everton for a few years now.

27 Apr 2015 07:57:09
But Chris, it's not just on the back of one game. He's consistently been one of Everton's best players this season - every Evertonian I know loves him, and are dreading losing him to a big offer.

I'm sure there were plenty wondering why the hell Fergie was splashing out nearly £4 million on a pasty, Irish Nottingham Forest midfielder back in the day, instead of some sexy, sun-tanned dude.

If he has been that great why have they struggled so much? I like him but put him in the Delph level

27 Apr 2015 10:01:02
Cannot agree more with NC99

27 Apr 2015 10:11:34
Also he is head, shoulders, knees and toes above Delph. Your having a laugh Christopher!

chris redman
he has been injured.
they struggled when he was out and have improved when he has played

27 Apr 2015 12:28:02
I'm not claiming he is a bad player at all, like I said I like the lad but I don't think he will be enough to take us forward.

Opinions guys, just opinions.
