Looking into chelsea game, I am really worried about blind . Willian is a pacey player and will trouble blind if he is left alone . Young has been supporting blind for all the games and hope this continues as in derby blind was easily outpaced by navas couple of times in first 20 mins . Blind is a very good player but one small mistake from him can turn into a goal concede . So if anyway he struggles in the match i woild prefer shaw to replace him and if he as usual uses his brain to outplay his opponent then it would be best

I guess Townsend, Sterling, Navas belong to the tortoise family then?
Yes Navas outpaced him once in ths first 10 mins but I think blind has done exceptionally well in the LB role in the past few games against some really quick players.
I would go with the same 11 as earlier game and see how it pans out before making changes.

Willian us no quicker than Townsend, Sterling or Navas and he coped fine then mate.

Townsend, Sterling and Navas aren't slow and Blind has had to face each of them at some point during the last few games. He's done very well. While Young has been there to support, Blind reads the game better than pretty much anyone else in our squad apart from Carrick and that's where he gets the better of quicker players.
It's also no guarantee Mourinho will play Willian as he will likely set up not to lose to us rather than go all out for the win. As Neville and Carragher pointed out the other night, our strongest area has been down the left and Mourinho will look to do something to stop us playing there.

Stop doubting Blind at LB for a lame reason. He's been the best LB in the league since he's played there.

I think Jose will be more concerned about Ivanovic getting burned by Young, we may even see Ramires on the Chelsea right to help out defensively.

You shouldn't worry about Willian, mate :)
For those of you that don't know, I'm a Chelsea fan. And I can assure you that Willian hardly tries to take on any defender when he's out on the wing. So don't worry about Blind.

And also, JMB, surely you don't really believe that Blind's been the best left back when he's started in that position? He's definitely not bad, but I feel that Azpi and Bertrand are better (possibly others as well but I haven't consistently seen other teams play) :)

Jackson for the last few gmaes I have seen him play at left back he has not put a foot wrong and when you consider the teams we have played Spurs, Liverpool and City I think he has played extraordinary mate.

I am more worried about Hazard on Valencia. All Hazard has to do is cut in and Valencia is screwed, He can't tackle with his left foot at all and Mata is not much help defensively so I think Chelsea's Left side is the most dangerous.

Fair enough, JMB, but I'd still easily put Azpi above Blind :)
That said, I don't expect us to find much joy down your left side on Saturday. Willian and Ivanovic will have their work cut out for them with Blind and Young both defending and attacking.

I am not saying that blind will get easily outpaced but saying that a simple mistake can make to a terrible goal . He is a very good player and thinks before he puts it into action but Chelsea are a tough team and Mourinho is great tactician so he surely must have some plans to use pace against our defenders . Hopefully LVG will have better game plan to nullify there threat and make our left flang even more scarier. Blind if as usual does everything right then it would be superb or else we may need to change after may be half time .

To be honest i am worried about valencia also as he is too one dimensional and would have busy time against Hazard. But again as he and smalling are in great form , Smalling will definitely help to secure to right defence
