Rumours are that LvG is looking for 1 striker, 1 winger, 1 CM, 1 CB and 1 RB.
Not sure how true this is but for argument sake let's assume it is. What would be your choices?
Ideal Choices for me:
Benzema
Bale/Reus
Pogba
Hummels
Clyne/Coleman
Realistic choices:
Ings
Depay
Gundogan
Hummels
Clyne

I'd go with Darmian, Otamendi, Xhaka, Depay and Cavani.
I think Clyne is overrated, and I worry about how Hummels would adapt to the league he also has a very iffy injury history. As for my midfield pick I've gone for someone who has flown a little under the radar. Granit Xhaka for me has huge potential, he is quick, strong, has good technique and is a excellent reader of the game. He has a great all round game. I don't think we need a top top quality midfielder as an urgent requirement. With Carrick, Blind, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata and Rooney we have two great options who can play as the deepest midfielder, 3 very good and different options who could play as the furthest forward midfielder but no one other than Herrera who can link them together. The other more established options would be Gundogan or Koke. Koke would need to be first choice pushing Herrera to the bench, and I don't think Gundogan will ever be quite the same player again. So I'd rather go for someone like Xhaka who could rotate round and has potential to become even better.
Depay is a no brainer. And Cavani would add a little bit of star dust and I think his game is perfectly suited to the premier league.

Shaps I also like Darmian from the time I saw him in the WC but I always thought he was a defensive fullback than an offensive fullback. Not saying that is a bad quality but we do need our fullbacks to contribute in our attacks.
Xhaka, have heard his name but never seen him play. My actual choice is Schneiderlin but we haven't been linked to him despite it being clear that he will be leaving so I thought he may not be realistic.
Depay i agree is a no brainer.
Cavani I think for the price quoted we should look for someone else.
Otamendi, yes he would be a good signing too.

Darmian is actually more of a wing back than a full back, similar in style to Evra when he first joined. But right sided of course.
I too am a huge fan of Schneiderlin, but I think he is headed else where. But he would be on my list of other options beside Xhaka.
As for Cavani, I would look at maybe trying to sort out some sort of swap with Di Maria. Personally I don't think Di Maria will ever be a consistent player in the Premier league. And as such the longer we keep hold of him the more he will drop in value. Also with Depay potentially coming in along with the form of Young and Mata and Januzaj hopefully to come good is Di Maria needed?

He has previously been looked at by Manchester United and by Barcelona but neither side is showing interest now although Barcelona could return for him in January if he is still available. Inter are looking for a player exchange deal and Chelsea want to give a player and some cash. Napoli is probably not going to be viable. Real Madrid will look to a straight cash deal - but all of these have dependencies such as what happens to Ivanovic as he is a like for like swap at right back. Certainly a move is on for the summer and others may come calling.}

Coleman IMO could be one of best in Europe at rb. veratti can dictate game tempo like schooled and pirlo. Bale pace power goals. Ings for value and huge potential. Hummel for leadership and calmness at the back. but would happy with clyne and depay over Coleman and bale. , I may have misunderstood a post from ed002 but I think ed said that psig made an offer for pogba and included veratti but it was dismissed by juve so perhaps psg are open to offers for veratti

PSG will be prepared to let him and Cavani go to Juventus as part of a deal for Pogba but Juve want to control the transfer as the money is critical to their plans. Real Madrid will push if it looks like he is going to be available.}
