Personally think too many people such as Fresh, have gotten far to caught up in believing Harry Kane is the next Shearer. Yes he has had a good season. But it's 1 good season, not consistently for a few years. To say we should "throw money" at Tottenham like Fresh suggested is reckless to say the least! There have been plenty of one season wonders in the premier league, I'm not saying he will be. But I'm not saying he won't be either. Levy wouldn't let him leave for less the £30/£40m and no way is he worth that !

Unlike Carroll, Kane can actually play football and you can see that he has a brain. He isn't a 'lump' like Carroll is who is only dangerous because of his size. I only see Kane's fortunes increasing, rather than becoming the next big flop.

£30m on Kane would be ideal.
He would compliment Wilson perfectly in the future and he can lead the line by himself. He has all the attributes we need, most importantly he can create chances for himself!
{Ed004's Note - A 30 million pound deal would be a no brainer. However, he will cost atleast 45 million. He's got a long term contract, loves Spurs and Levy is the negotiator. I'd probably go for Vietto who is in impressive form and who's release clause is under 20 million euros}

IMO Kane is no 1 season wonder, he is the future for England and I would love it if he was at UTD, personally I would pay up to 40 mill for him. He has just about everything you need in a forward player, why would anyone not want him in the first 11.

Sometimes you just get the vibe from a player that tells you they are the real deal, this kid has it ! I think he is tailor made for us we have always gone for the best young English players its in our genes so I think we will definitely look at him.
As far as the fee goes anything between £30million and £50million depending on how much he wanted to leave spurs.

£45 may be a bit high now, but in 5 years time it will be the new £20m when Kane will be 26. Home Grown rules getting tighter, its just the same as buying Shaw and Kane looks already capable at the highest level, plus strikers often command twice as much as defenders.
We overpaid for Shaw, but we were buying potential. With Kane, he is already better than RVP.

I think it would be great to add some top British youth, Kane would be fantastic leading the line in a front three but is also versatile. It would be great to see players like Kane, Barkley, Clyne, Stones lining up with Shaw and Jones.
Someone above mentioned Carrick are there any British players out there who could fill his shoes for us in the next year or so?

Barkley, wow! He's so overrated it's untrue. so you want us to go blow £120m on Kane, Barkley, stones and clyne ? Not for me! And I don't think Kane will be any more than a good premiership striker. Not what your all thinking he's going to be. Fresh you saying you think he will be better than Rooney? £45m yet less risk than buying Rooney for £30m?

I wouldn't pay £25m for Kane, i'd give him another year to see if he is the real deal. Also, Barkley and Clyne are the most overrated players around.

£30 - 35 million in this market is a no brainer for me. The lad has had potential for a while and is now coming to the party. If Shaw cost £30 million and Sterling/Barkely are rated at £50 million then the £30 million for Kane is about right. He won't leave Spurs though. He will be at the Lane for many years to come.

Sterling and Barkeley are not worth 50 and it is just bs talk mate. If they were to go somewhere they would go for mid 20s.
Harry Kane will not go for that kind of money as most clubs would want to see him back up this season with another rood one, then he would go for higher than 35m, I reckon.
The issue is every one seems to be fair weather football fan, last year Barkeley had a great 6 months and people start sprouting 50 million like clubs print money. Based on his performance this year you would be hard pressed to pay 20 million if you want to look at options available across the globe.
Kane is similar and whilst i think he is good player let's not anoint him as the new Gerd Muller yet LOL.
BTW for those of you slagging RVP, at his peak he was a better player and not comparable.

I think Sterling given his stature at the moment would fetch above the 40 mark though but like you said Barkley has had 6 good months and that is it.
RVP is quality and will be quality again next season.

I don't think Levy would sell Kane, even for £45m, and then maybe only to an overseas team - besides which the lad seems to love Spurs. Sterling would fetch the same amount - simply because there's no motivation on behalf of the club to sell; however with Raheem he himself may be inclined to join a club where European football is more of a certainty.

Madrid, United, City, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea and maybe Arsenal. None would look at him at that price as there are tons of better players out there. This is none Fifa football.
Who does sits at these clubs if Sterling was added to their squads. Have a look at their teams and I would be really interested to see your response.

GCU, The issue is as much to do with what the present club will sell a player for as much as who will buy him. All I'm saying is that Spurs won't sell Kane and Liverpool won't sell Sterling on the cheap. If there are no buyers around £45m they will hold on. Each of them is arguably the best player and prospect on their respective teams, and if either Spurs or Liverpool have any ambition to progress, they can't go around selling their best players. Look what happened to them after they sold Bale and Suarez respectively.
By the way, I don't play FIFA football.

Liverpools best players are countinho and a healthy sturridge mate. Sterling is not what makes liverpool tick, coutinho and henderson are their most influential players and healthy sturridge gives them bit upfront.

You trying to tell me he is at Cavani level because that is the kind of money Cavani would fetch given the current Euro's exchange rate. Never in a million years, he is so hit and miss that you don't spend that kind of money on a player that is not proven.

GCU, I don't disagree, which is why I think both players will be at the same club next year. But for me, when Sterling is played in the right position, he's extremely dangerous, very fast, with good ball control, able to misdirect defenders and willing to take a player on and beat them regularly. His final ball and finishing need to be improved - a little like Walcott a few years ago. He's a young kid with incredible potential. I've always thought Coutinho was an exciting player, however it's only recently people on this site have acknowledged that, and it's probably as a result of 2 great goals in the last few weeks. Henderson has emerged this season, but again, last year everyone was suggesting that Liverpool had wasted their money.
When it comes to what a player is worth there are numerous factors that come into the equation. A good young player will have a residual value that may even be in excess of the initial transfer price (Hazard would be a good example of this). If Shaw works out then he too could end up being worth more than we paid for him. As the initial cost is amortized it leaves a potential big profit if the player is then sold. An older player may not maintain his value. He may sell more shirts if he's a big name, but in the end it's all a gamble.
