Nice to see Teddy Sheringham backing James Wilson to go on to be a 20+ goal a year striker at Man United. If the lad can add some muscle to his frame along with his frightening pace we may have a top frontman for many years to come.

Also I read an article about Januzaj were he claims that he has started 'working harder in the gym to toughen up' and 'he wants to stamp all the bad habits out his game (aka diving etc)'. Good on the lad, he could have sulked like a lot of other overpaid baby's out there at his lack of first team action this year but he is getting his head down and working hard.

Along with Depay supposedly lined up for the Summer then barring horrific injuries and the right guidance the future looks bright for us to push on for many years to come.

Wilson, Januzaj, Depay and Shaw would be 4 of the most promising youngsters in the League. They all have very bright futures, and hopefully those bright futures lie here. If it was me I would wave bye bye to Falcao and RVP and have Rooney as first choice, Wilson as second/third choice and buy a cheap striker like Chelsea did with Remy - not sure who. Maybe even Hernandez could be that player.

nice read

Fresh Ings is available for free at the end of this season and we have been linked with him.

I agree totally JMB, if Januzaj is staying positive and working even harder then hats off to him. As you say, many others, Zaha anyone, also have ability but don't have the same determination to succeed. Every young player should use Ronaldo as a model of how to achieve exactly what they want to achieve. He may be a bit stroppy and things at times, but no one can deny how hard he has worked since a young kid to get to where he is now.

Also agree with Fresh, I'd let Falcao and RVP go this summer and said so a while back. Rooney is the number 1 striker and we could get a back up to compete with Wilson for decent money I think.

Good call MB, I'd take Ings

Brendan, of all the big names we are being linked with, I would take more pleasure in seeing us sign Ings and turn him into a star.
These ao called big names, or marquee signings, usually leave the fans disappointed. The huge transfer fees just fuel expectation, and the players rarely live up to them.

What does Teddy know about James Wilson? Has he coached him or worked with him or is he just basing his opinion on seeing him the same as us? It would be a great endorsement if it was based on something concrete. I did not red the article so just wondering
As for Ings on a free it has to be good business. If we play with 1 up top next year i'd be happy to start the season with 1 from wilson ings and Rooney as long as we strengthen all the other key areas
CB x2 RB, CMx2 RW.

I know its a game but on a football manager I signed ings on a free and he finished 3rd top scorer in the league that season behind soldado and costa as I romped to the domestic treble. Depay also bagged 22 in all competitions. So in computer simulations they work as signings.

I agree BS, I'd much rather help an English lad develop and fulfil his potential, than overpay for another import who doesn't really give a toss and can't handle the PL.

MrE,

I think the fact Soldado scored more than him would suggest that Football Manager isn't the greatest way to judge it.

18 Mar 2015 19:50:39
GDS, you could have shortened that sentence to " the fact that Soldado scored". :)

I agree, but then that game runs on potential. Beast would love that spurs team. Just thought i'd throw in a different view.
