Before anybody posts another anti LVG post ask yourself this question: Is the team this year better than last year? 150m has been spent but don't mistake replacements for improvements. Without Shaw we have no LB so young has been adapted to fit a hybrid role. Has the defence improved on last season?, has the midfield? What about up front? Is there any improvement in what we had last season at all? Had Di Maria and Falcao lived up to their price tags then maybe we could say yes to 2 areas slightly, but they haven't. So with that in mind do we not have to manage our own expectations with a team that is nowhere near man for man the top 2/3 teams in europes elite leagues.

I personally think its worse than last season. The dross being served up is mind numbingly boring.

Maybe u need to watch the 13/14 DVD

We can keep a hold of the ball better this term, but that's about the only improvement. The defence doesn't look any better and there is still not enough cut and thrust going forwards. But it is better than last year which was just misguided and awful.

I think people have misunderstood the post my point is the team hasn't improved as in personnell but people seem have set their expectations as if the players that have come in should nean the season outcome should be a lot better. My point is that money has been spent but on replacements rather than improvements, the 2 players that should have been improvements are di maria and falcao but its not worked out as planned. The team we have now is no stronger than last term just difference in personnel.

Sorry but this season the team are playing for LvG, there is fight in them. We were down to 10 men last night but kept on fighting, I don't remember seeing that last season. We are not laying down and letting teams walk over us, yes we are frustrated but not humiliated like last season so for me there is an improvement

Red Man, I'm sorry. I really don't see this fight that you keep talking about. If you mean frantically lumping the ball up to Fellaini in increasing desperation, giving silly, petty little fouls away all over the pitch when in good positions or when the opposition player is going nowhere, and running round like headless chickens, then yes, they're showing fight.

Arsenal took their foot off the gas, happy to hold what they have. It could still have been much worse, if DDG hadn't been in inspired form again. I don't recall their keeper making many saves after we showed this fight.

Red Man I don't think the team are 'playing for LVG'. I feel a lot of them are playing for the Man Utd badge (and thier futures) which is great to see.

As far as Clarity's post is concerned I feel the team is much better than last year but the performances (the majority of them) have been poor and abject and that's both down to the manager and the players playing far from one hundred per cent.

I feel the £150million could have been invested better in the summer but we did bring in some very good players.

Interesting JMB

Which areas do you feel have been improved?

And again for the other replies I am not saying the team haven't been better i'm saying the players in the team are no better than the ones we had last season. No player purchased is better than the ones they have replaced. I am not referring to performance I am referring to a man for man comparison.

The evidence of our eyes says they are trying for him but it wouldn't suit your anti LvG arguments to say they were. I wasn't happy with team selection nor the half time substitutions made by LvG on Monday but they are playing for him that I can see.

And how is me blaming our players for acting like id1ots, 'anti-LVG', just out of interest.

11 Mar 2015 09:00:42
Oh well, if the evidence of YOUR eyes tells you that, then it's alright then.

It's your opinion, not evidence. And resorting to 'anti-LVG' comments, shows how weak your argument is.

Your post above shows it, about our "headless chickens", that it isn't our players trying but them taking their foot off the gas.
I think LvG has made mistakes but the players are trying for him

No. Criticising the way our players were carrying on, was anti-player, not anti-LVG.
