A springboard, a win after playing our Ashley Young get out of jail card. That is the Ashley Young who for me deserved the man of the match more than DeGea, well as DDG did.
Overall the performance was controlled possession, almost a game of chess, it has to be said we are not conceding or losing by big margins but there was a lack of urgency particularly when it looked like we may only get a draw. SAF would have taken a chance earlier and thrown more at the opposition but now we have a more calculated approach. Build from the back, don't lose first then pick off goals. The thing is that we look anxious around the penalty area when we used to be assured, if you watch the players I believe you can see there is a touch of anxiousness about them all round the pitch, the pressure has been telling on them. Still we keep picking up results and I wonder if that tonight just gave us a touch more confidence even if the performance was not great.
We are awkward to play against so I do think some teams coming up against us will realise we could be a tough nut to crack.

Credit to Wayne Rooney who nearly willed it to happen with his relentless effort till the ball landed at Young's feet. There will be a lot of talking points coming up:
1. Di Maria subbed off early again
2. Falcao zero minutes
3. Van Gaal's reaction to the goal
4. Fellaini not the answer up front, for me anyway
5. Still top four, up 2 on Liverpool for now
