So its looking more and more likely that the Shotgun Wedding won't last between UTD and ADM. honestly can't say iv seen enough quality to be bothered. I do hope however that the wheels are in motion in prep for this Summer to do all of our business early to avoid this situation again. In other news good to see Blackett and James signing new contracts, say what u want about LVG but one thing he does well is looking after the young seeds. I'm in no great rush to see instant success again although it would be nice, but i'm happy to see there is a longer plan being looked at and its now just about finding that balance between present and future and allowing it to merge beautifully

Happy Friday Reds

And what about Andreas Pereira? Similar to the Pogba situation.

I hope we don't lose another potential star.

though I will say I only know what the papers say a little from seeing him feature a U20.

Is he the real deal?

i seen a great artice the other day discussing that same issue. The outcome was basically that there are similarities between the two (pereira/pogba) but the main difference is that pogba WAS ready for the first team but was overlooked but pereira isnt. It also mentioned that although pereira shows quality in the u21 games he is not dominating them enough as pogba did to make that push for the first team. It seems like pereira is trying to emulate pogba somewhat (if this is all true) as it states Juventus would be the destination of choice and that he has been in contact with pogba a lot. What i took away from that was that pogba rightly so was disgruntled due to being ready for the first team and not getting the games whereas pereiras situation leans me more towards the "payday" option without the justification and hopes UTD won't want to lose out twice.

I would not be pleased to see him leave, but equally I would be very dissapointed if LVG gave in to the demands of an 19 year old who he doesn't deem to be ready. A player like Pereira has to be perfectly ready to play in the first XI as he doesn't have size on his side like Pogba did. If I was in charge I wouldn't start him ahead of Carrick, Blind, Herrera or Di Maria either.

Fully agree, you need to ask yourself would this story be getting the attention it is pre Pogba??? Personally the Pogba situation baffled me I remember when he came on against Bilbao and was awesome in what was an otherwise terrible tie and our midfield wasnt exactly booming. i'm also surprised not a lot has been said about Tom Lawrence's departure he looked like a player with natural ability and real potential

Parreria will never be 'another Pogba situation'. Clubs lose potential players all the time but Pogba's was unique because of what he has become at such a tender age.

Parreria is already hawking himself about and talking his options up to the press. Pogba moved on with little media spotlight and let his football do the talking. That's the difference. Parreria thinks he already is somebody in the modern game but in reality he is a nobody.
