Sorry to be Mr. Downer, but I think our luck is changing.

We have had nothing but luck this season (for the most part), winning games we should have drawn or lost, drawing games we should have lost. We lose to Swansea who we deserved to beat last week.

Our typical rivals for CL all starting the season well below average - now they all look better than us and are getting the results.

FA Cup & League Cup Draws which couldn't have been better, now we get Arsenal.

Rivals for CL space all being in Europe so it makes it more difficult for them - not anymore by the looks of things.

I have been saying it for a while, it has been more luck than judgement that has gotten us where we are in the league (which I still think is sub-par), but now lady luck seems to be getting fed up of bailing out LVG and our superstar flops, it could be a messy end to the season!

I woke up happy today as well, sorry if this depresses anyone, but I think the tide is changing!

{Ed001's Note - not like you to be negative Beast.....

I'm not feeling too good so thought I would come on here see if things had turned round a bit and I was expecting a few more positive posts, then I read this. You can look at Spurs, liverpool and arsenal probably going out of Europe 2 ways, one that it means they won't have as many fixtures, or 2 that they aren't very good hence why they lose.

This luck we supposedly had all season didn't seem to be around during the burnley away game and leicester away game, luck is exactly that, luck, it doesn't come and go, and we have had our fair share of good and bad luck this season.

Blimey Beast, this is new low even for you. I'm not sure where luck comes in but it will come and go, good and bad. You must be a real barrel of laughs to live with.

Strange isn't it that we were winning games we "didn't deserve" to win using a terrible formation and tactics and then when we change to a formation everybody was clambering for we lost when we should have won. If United changed back to 352 and started picking up wins regularly would you still complain? I think the answer yes, unfortunately the answer wouldn't be yes to the question; do you know anything about football.

27 Feb 2015 11:26:05
Yes we have been riding our luck this season, a lot, but we have also been very unlucky.
Somebody once quoted "Luck is a very thin wire between survival and disaster, and not many people can keep their balance on it" very true.

27 Feb 2015 11:48:41
I think it is fair to say that this season there have been more than our normal amount of games which we have won and didn't deserve to or got a point at least. Frequently I hear the manager say we didn't play well, but we got the point/s.

Ed001 - Yeah I thought we were getting to way laid on other matters and not focussing on the impending doom of the LVG era at Old Trafford, get a nice post on here to get the Utd apocalypse highlighted again haha

GDS2 - Sorry mate - even if it means they aren't that good, it still means that they have less fixture congestion and can focus on their domestic games without having to juggle. It's definitely a bad thing for our CL hopes with them all suffering in Europe.

AJH - I've got a good balance, happy happy sunshine guy in normal life, the natural down moments I decide to come on my favourite website to vent, haha

Tot 66 - Can't resist a little personal dig can you? People are fully within their rights to call me a pint half empty kind of guy, or a perfectionist, or even a realist, but somebody that knows nothing about football, seriously!? Just because our points of view differ it doesn't mean I don't know what I am talking about.

In any case, that Gomis winner would have happened if we played 8 at the back, it was an "UNLUCKY" goal to concede, which is kind of my point, I don't think they got in our half during that 2nd half of the game. We are playing 3-5-2 anyway, just Blind sometimes stands a bit further forward when we have the ball - it's 5-3-2 in defence, 4/2-4/6-2 in attack (or meant to be dependent on what you class the wing backs as). We looked the most secure I have seen us in a while against Swansea, which is kind of my point.

Apparently we can predict when we will be lucky or unlucky!! Come on Beast.
How about Spurs away in the first half, we missed a hatful of chances, goalkeeper made saves when he didn't even see the ball, hit the bar/post. Where was the luck there?
Where was the luck against Burnley away, two nailed on penalties and the ref turned them both away.
Or the luck at Leicester when Rafa was judged to have fouled and replays showed that was a very bad decision.

I have tried to post this response before but it wasn't put up. Maybe the Ed though it might attract grief so chose not to post it, so the same may well happen again, but here goes anyway.
Beast, I know this is a typically negative post of yours, but I honestly think you are just on a.constant fishing expedition on here
Just about every post you put up is basically criticizing. The team you claim to love. No doubt your army of groupies will respond by saying you are entitled to your opinion, which of course you are.
But to me, you just seem to post as much negative stuff as you can, courting controversy and debate. Surely you, as a United fan must take SOME enjoyment from being a fan, otherwise what is the point?
Before I get the usual replies about being a LvG lover., let me tell you I am not. But I think you should realise that your constant criticising of the manager for absolutely everything means, in my view, you lose credibility. You used to justify your views with some sensible rationalisation.
Sorry for the rant mate, and it is nothing personal. But honestly, I think that just for your own sanity, you should perhaps try being a little less negative.
I don't think.ANYONE is happy with the way things are at the moment, or even happy with the manager. But you cannot constantly blame him for everything. And to suggest we have been so lucky this season is daft. Sure, we have had some luck in a few games, but so does every team. What about the ridiculous amount if injuries, especially earlier in the season. I read the other day you were sympathising for Klopp at Dortmund because of the injuies they have suffered, hence their poor season. This is just one example of double standards, where you apply one arguement for other teams and their manager , but not.to the team you support.
We all get that you hate LvG, and you are not the only one. But your posts may carry a little more credence if you were a little more balanced with your posts.

{Ed001's Note - it has been posted before, please don't keep repeating yourself just because you didn't notice.}

27 Feb 2015 13:55:16
Betty - no sympathy from me to Klopp about injuries, I don't know enough about their situation to have an opinion on that, wrong guy mate.

In terms of enjoyment, you are right I don't get anywhere near the enjoyment I used to have from watching Utd. It pains me at the moment because the players we have and infrastructure we have should encourage entertaining football, but maybe my constant negativity ironically reflects our approach to games.

I still get the excitement just before kick off and as this season we have played less games right now I can't wait until 3pm Saturday, but it is getting very tiresome and has been for 3-4 years waiting for that pre game excitement to be justified. There have been some great games in that time don't get me wrong, but the long and short of it is that I am disgruntled supporter, my support won't waver but my patience does.

I relished our success and I will bitch about our demise, simply because it is totally avoidable.

27 Feb 2015 14:00:41
Betty - I am not a Beast 'groupie' as you have nicely put it and I don't agree with all of his views or opinions. Infact the thing about this site is everyone agree and disagree with each others opinions daily.

There are weeks were I might agree with all Beasts posts, there are weeks I might agree with none. There are weeks I agree with yours and times I will not. The same could be said for any regular poster be that GDS, Red Man, AJH, GCU etc.

But at the end of the day Beast has been constant in his posts this season and if that's how he feels then it's his right to vent. If you believe he is 'fishing' then simply don't take the bait. We all want the team to do well mate but we all have different expectations and views and no one is right or wrong when expressing them.

27 Feb 2015 14:50:15
Ed001,

I posted something similar recently and it wasn't posted, that's all. I didn't miss it. But irrespective of that, the above wasn't intended as a moan about any of the Eds not posting it. Sorry if it came across that way. I totally understand if any posts aren't put up because they may be seen by yourselves as 'inflammatory'.

JMB, for what its worth mate, "Beast groupie" was just a throwaway comment aimed at posters who only EVER post anything negative. Usually after games. You certainly are not one of them.
I accept that everyone is entitled to air their views, and that includes Beast, obviously. I just wish he could portray them in a more balanced way. I felt the same last season regards Moyes. I don't think Moyes or LvG are / were the answer. I just think they have got the blame for everything. Some justified, but an awful lot not.

I find it ironic that if you speak out against the negative ones, you get slated for not respecting other people's views. By the negative ones!

27 Feb 2015 17:18:12
Haha Betty with this latest post from Beast it sounds like his sanity could already be called into question. I mean come on, our luck is changing? You need to find a hobby or something your brain is clearly working overtime on why we're not playing so well this season and it's having a funny effect.
