I find it really amusing that a few posters actually believe that the likes of Herrera/Shaw were not really LVG signings and are not favoured by him because they are sort of indirectly DM's signings as the foundations for those were laid down in DM's reign.

Imagine when DM can decide against signing the likes of Strootman/Garay, who were believed to be scouted by Sir Alex, does anyone really believe that as arrogant & stubborn as LVG is, he will sign the players he does not really want? He can simply have said "no" to those deals, especially with the amount of money the board were willing to spend, he did not have any obligations to complete those deals and could have easily looked elsewhere.

The reality is LVG would have had a look and seen the LB and CM as areas in immediate need of strengthening and would have assessed the players qualities before giving the go ahead. With his arrogance it is criminal to even assume he would just sign players based on someone's recommendation.

And by the way Fellaini is an actual DM signing and LVG seems to be favouring him to break down teams nowadays. Isn't it odd? LVG would play anyone who he feels suits his system or does a job for him, simple as that.

Typo Correction : "few people in general" instead of "few posters"

GDS is this you using another alias?

No, but I am going to have some time away from the site, I support United because of my love for the club, I try and see the positive side of things and always try and be optimistic, I appreciate that not all clubs can be hugely successful and also that sometimes things can take time. I speak to friends and other fans at the game and they have the same opinion as me, then I come on here and there is so much negativity, I've never seen anything like it.

We are in the quarter finals of the cup and 3rd in the league, that for me was the ceiling this season and coming on here depresses the life out of me.

So speak soon guys and keep well everyone.

GDS2

I understand how you feel. Right now I am in the Far East about to go out for the evening and for the last couple of weeks tried to find a wifi connection to check in just to answer some of the negative spoilt stuff I read on here. The only thing I recommend is to keep going with your opinion, don't let them snuff your opinion out and don't let them win by forcing you off the site.

I enjoy your posts GDS2, but I appreciate that a break can sometimes be a good thing - I came back from mine feeling better than ever.

The problem regulars have is the site is full of people who come on everyday, every few days, just for games or just very occasionally. I am being called repetitive now, but I get wound up having addressed a point (quite well in my eyes), only for somebody to completely disregard it the next day (or even next post) and a whole thread materialises despite the topic being covered at length by several of us the day before. So I bang on about what I said before, making it seem I can't give it a rest, but really it's because what is being said by the OP is so similar to what has been said before by others and wrong in my eyes.

Its also easy for somebody to just pick one tiny point about your post and then get hammered on that which disregards 90% of the rest of the point you were making. For the record I agree with you about Herrera, he is good but he isn't great. He is the best we have, but our midfield is woefully behind our rivals - we need better than Herrera if we are to dominate European football long term imo, but he should be used now without a doubt.

I've decided to scale back my comments now, otherwise they just get lost and you only end up winding up the regulars with repetitiveness (they are the ones who I'm most bothered about).

Hope you keep posting mate, we need counter balances on here.

Red Man, the irony in that post is delicious :) GDS, bit of advice, mate, from an old farther. Suck it up, dust yourself down, and stand your ground for what you believe in. They're only words.

I sometimes wonder, if all of us were having a drink in the pub, talking about Utd, we would never resort to all this bitchiness and name-calling. We'd be having a laugh, even if we disagreed with each other. Why should it be any different on here?

Beast,

The whole Herrera thing got a bit out of hand, I do feel he is like the Kagawa figure from last year, we aren't playing well and people think he should be playing, so anybody who says anything negative about him is totally wrong. Herrera should be playing now, he is the best we have, but I think we can and will get better than him in time.

Stevie,

I think generally I come on here in a good mood and go off here feeling annoyed, yesterday morning I posted a joke with a wink that was clearly a joke to calm things down and it was taken 100% seriously and started a big argument and people bitching, I appreciate it is difficult to get a joke across via text.

I think that is where the problem arises that you mention, it is not the same as a pub because it is difficult to tell when people are being a bit light hearted.

Maybe I am being hasty saying I will stop posting, I do enjoy this site and it is like a little family at times, I just wonder exactly what needs to happen for people to be happy, at the moment I get the feeling if we won the Fa cup final somebody would come on and say 'but Blind misplaced a pass in the 12th minute and why was Herrera not on from the start, LVG hasn't got a clue!' and that is frustrating.

I am not bothered about a bit of stick from an anonymous poster on here, it is more just the whole negative atmosphere that makes me want to not bother.

Or it could end up in a huge brawl Noucamp!

TOT66 - sure it'd be good craic either way, mate :)

Noucamp99/Steviek

Interesting your irony point, I was chased and harried last year for my views and you were one of them, additionally I had someoneelse telling me I had a "syndrome" and directly told to get off the site so I understand where GDS is. I hope he continues because I respect everyone's opinions but can and do disagree.

I think in answer to your point I think it is different to the pub because we are all anonymous and in the pub your mates would laugh and you would move on. Maybe we should have our first names as part of our tags so it feels more like you are addressing a person rather than an adversary keyboard warrior.

Or we could all only post when we're having a few beers :)

It's not even being in the pub 'with friends', Red Man. I guarantee if everyone on this site were to meet up and discuss these same matters in a pub over a pint, everything would be perfectly civil. Loud and opinionated, but civil. I do like the idea of first names being used, rather than 'handles'. To use my old CB radio jargon.
