Reading LVG's latest comments and I find them a little disconcerting. I know things can be lost in translation, and journalists are asking him leading questions, but:

1. He seems to accept that Rooney may be his best striker but he has to play in midfield for the good of the team. There are 2 simple questions here. Is Rooney adding more to midfield than Hererra would, and would Rooney add more up front than RVP or Falcao are currently delivering. I simply don't understand the logic here; how long do we persist with playing players who are out of form or in the wrong positions.

2. After 6 months, LVG confirms he is no nearer understanding the best formation for the team. For a man with his cv, and with the players he has at his disposal, this seems odd.

For me, these 2 things are linked. The starting poimt should be to play players in their best positions and then work a formation around that.

We are 3rd but stuttering and others now have momentum. We really need LVG to have an epiphany

Agree10 Disagree2

Its easy really drop rvp because he is really off form put rooney next to falcao herrera in mid. can only try and i think we would play a lot better.

1 Herrera can do a better job than Rooney and Rooney can do a better job than RVP/Falcao so its baffling to say the least.

2 Its still baffling the hell out of me. What and where is this philosophy? Did he misplace it?

Yes we are 3rd, nice one considering we have a manager who still has no idea how to pick a first 11. can't see him been here next season.

Lads you do realise that there are clubs that haven't won anything in decades? And starving babies in Africa who don't know where their next meal is coming? Just be thankful that you have seen your club win trophies and that you have food in your belly.

Just support the team and enjoy it because pointing out inherent contradictions in the manager's tactics or questioning his use of players makes you a spoiled glory hunter, and possibly a Nazi.

So next time you think about criticising van Gaal remember that it makes you look like a glory hunting selfish Nazi who doesn't care about the starving babies in Africa.

Danny your a funny guy. :-)
Surely by now even the most loyal devoted LVG followers can see through him, then again, maybe not.

I said exactly that a few days ago and I don't understand why LvG doesn't do it. RVP is the fly in the ointment for me

Bit harsh Danny, and you've changed your tune. I've been there through Sexton, I started going to OT in '79 so it was a long time before we won anything substantial. I'm well aware of how much success we have enjoyed and if it all ends now, I am glad I was there when it all happened.

However, we have the Beast camp who want to sack him now and we have others for whom he can do no wrong. These are at the extremes and simply antagonise each other.

Most of us just want to debate the issues and give our views. I don't accept that we have had success ergo let's suck up the nonsense we are seeing.

Sorry Danny, possible over-reaction to your funny post. Late night

It's ok, Tony, I started reading it, and thought, 'where the hell is Danny going with this'??? We all get caught out from time to time :)

Hahahahaha brilliant Danny :)

A late night planning a Salford Putsch AJH?

Honestly, jokes aside, some people need to jump off their "real supporter" high horses and accept that wanting your team to be successful, and criticising the manager when you think his decisions are making the team weaker is a perfectly acceptable thing for a real supporter to do. If we put all the self-righteous 'I supported us when we never won anything' martyrdom to the side, most supporters want their team to be as successful as possible, and are rightly aggrieved when the team is performing below the standard they are capable of.

Was laughing out loud by the end of that post Danny.

Glory hunter here.

Hate seeing week in week out the line up before the game he puts out and when I see it, i think here we go nothing learnt and just repeating the same dross.

The poor poor footballing display just does not look like there is any end to it and hopefully salvage something but LVG is genius and an urban legend and no one should question it.
