Come on children settle down. The site has been a bit choppy these last couple of days and I think we are all guilty of going a little overboard.

First off these comments about fans not wanting to watch United and other calling them glory supporters.

Lets not turn on each other and call each other names, we are all civilised humans after all and although we all have different opinions we should respect each other enough not to degrade ourselves by flinging silly names at each other.

Fans and supporters who are from the British isles tend to have the name glory supporter thrown at them a lot by other fans and that makes us edgy over people whom maybe don't show the same kind of unwaivering support we show.

Many like myself support United because i was born into it, it is my extended family. And the suggestion that I only love my family because they are successful is hurtful.

But we need to accept that not everyone is born into the family some are married in, they join at a later date and because they want in at that time. But they can divorce out again if times get tough and they don't want to ride the storm.

We are the biggest family in the world not because of those members who are born in but because of those members who have married in, they come from all over the world and they may never have had the term "glorry supporter" thrown at them. Why would a Texan call a New Yorker a glory supporter because he supports a different english football team to him? He wouldn't the fact we attract these fans is through the success and glory of our on field achievements, so it shouldn't be surprising that they will be the ones who turn their back when things don't go to plan.

But that doesn't make them any less important to us being the global force we are today, all fans born and married into our family are equally important to the future success of the club. Whether we like it or not we live in a commercial world where money is king, it is the fans who generate that money and without them we wouldn't be where we are now. We need those fans, so let's not turn on each other, instead let's do as our name suggests and be UNITED.

We all want the same thing, we may have different ideas of how to get there, or slightly different visions of how we want us to be but we all want to see the continued success of our club our family.

Agree9 Disagree0

Well said, Shappy

Its quite emotional seeing so many posters picking on each other.

What is more surprising is we all want the same end result its just the way we see things are different to each others thinking.

Its like i want half empty glass and you want half full but we are missing the point that the glass is still going to be half empty no matter how we word it.

Its the same as watching manchester united, we might not be overly impressed by watching the next few games but that won't solve the issue.

We are a big family that's seen lots of success but we need to stick toghether and trust me next year around this time we will all be laughing!.

The thing that urks me the most is people are saying the same thing every week,

its a lose lose situation, we win and we wernt good enough, we lost and we aren't good enough, and then when we draw we ain't good enough.

to much slating and moaning its ridiculas

When the team deserve praise I will be the first to give it. Every week (almost) the team and manager deserve criticism.

Newcastle was the last time I praised us.

Shappy,

I would never suggest anyone is a bigger fan than anyone else based on location or anything like that, my support for the club is something I cherish and I know how I feel about that support but who am I to suggest anybody loves the club more or less than me? I think my comments yesterday all got a bit out of hand, I wasn't even on the site for most of the night, its like I lit a fuse and left, which I didn't mean to do, to be honest I had forgotten I had written the post until I came back on and scrolled down.

I am not turning on anybody and certainly not calling anybody any names, shall we have a big Manchester United group hug, let's all meet at Piccadilly before the game tomorrow night and hug it out, that should be enough time for all the fans from all over the world to get there!

"I am not turning on anybody"

I wouldn't be too sure about that GDS, I went through a whole box of kleenex yesterday and I can tell you now, I don't have a cold.

Actually the people who turn on those fans from outside of Manchester miss the fundamental success of the club is the whole point. United were one of the first clubs to internationalise and widen the brand - something all the chelskis, bitters etc are now trying to catch up with. So the very success of United brings the claim, but it totally misses the point of the forward nature of the club from many years ago

I'm not saying who called who names, let's just put and end to it.

I don't expect everyone to agree, in fact i don't want everyone to. But we can respect each other and treat each other like adults and how we would like to be treated.

Lets put this to bed and move on now, agreed?

I live in Scotland, so live games I see more Hearts, Dundee United than Manchester United. I get down when I can, but this year has been crazy at work.

A lot of us are frustrated at the poor displays and our inability of obdurate refusal to address our glaring weaknesses over the last 5 years or so. Herrera, Shaw, Mata and Di Maria all excellent signings Rojo and Blind look to have a future. Yet still no midfield general.

I'm not going to agree with everyone on here and a lot of you will not agree with me. that's as it should be.

Lets hope the team starts to gel.

Ermm who made you the boss? ;)

Fine by me mate.

What about those of us who watch the games at home GDS? Can we still turn up for the group hug???

Danny,

In my seriousness earlier I glossed over your brilliant joke, just glad I could be of service to someone ;)
