I have been reading this site for quite long but don't post much. Hopefully this will be one of many more posts to come from me.
I have only 1 slight problem with LVG as manager. I remember we had a similar goal scoring slump last season from the Chelsea match. So LVG saw it last season and has not addressed that or taken note of it whatever he writes in his notes.
You expect the manager to see what happened last season and be prepared for a tactical solution to address it so it does not repeat. That is where i think managers like Mourinho and LVG who are too stubborn not to see it

Completely agree.
I said in the summer that we would be looking for a striker given the failed Falcao experiment. We ended up shipping out RVP and Hernandes on top of that, which is strange to say the least and never brought in a striker. It is not fair to expect a 19 year old to carry the entire burden of scoring for a team.
I know RVP was probably shipped due to his Wages and to make room for Schweinsteiger, who ed002 says is on 300k. I find the whole decision making bizarre to pay those sort of wages for an older player who is good but not a game changer and leave us toothless upfront.
In hindsight a inconsistent Hernandez and an ageing RVP would have been very handy given what we are witnessing at the moment and Rooney's decline.
I am almost now in the beast camp that selling Welbeck was a mistake too not that he would set the world alight but if people were planning on offloading RVP and Hernandes, then we should have not sold Welbeck. It all seems like very poor planning and the transfers being done without much thought.
IMO this is the first United team that I can remember in 10 years that is unable to go into a higher gear when needed and if anything we end games very tame, poorly and disjointed when needing the opposite and to push for a goal. I sit there watching and waiting every game hoping but it is not happening.
Yesterday was embarrassing to watch especially after watching Liverpool who made chelsea look terrible and deserved to win.
I hope people do not make any excuses next week against West Brom who shipped 3 gaols to leicester at home. Recommend people look at the leicester line up as it is a bunch of nobody's and stop saying we are in transition. with our wage bill and investments, the quality of our play needs to be a lot better.

I don't agre re RVP or Hernandez, one was sliding u rapidly down the wrong side of the hill and the other just wasn't good enough. Good point on Welbeck though given his pace but I don't think LVG would have played him, he is too erratic to fit the philosophy.

Wow gcu. Myself, maze and red man said before the season started that our attack was non existent. And most posters disagreed. And on Welbeck, Beast and myself did not want to see him go, but you were the most adamant poster that welbeck was totally useless and must be sold!
And finally, you can see that as per my worst nightmare, that the scousers are not as bad a team as you're making out, klopp will get them organised and they will be a force a lot sooner than people think. I'm incredibly depressed about that.
But most depressing, is a team like ours containing all the attacking talent can only muster one shot on goal against CP. Then the manager comes out and and lambasts the team publically, when it is obvious that it IS HIS own tactics that are hindering our play. The sooner people see that the better.

I have never rated welbeck but then again I had no idea we were going to sell every recognised striker on the books and end up with rooney.
I never disagreed with a view that we needed a striker and all along said it should be a priority this past summer.
Finally, i still don't think Liverpool will be a factor and spurs and southampton to me are more of a treat. Klop is a good manager but chelsea are awful at the moment.
I do agree, we will win nothing with LVG and people think the solution is giving him more and more money and if we buy this guy and that guy we will be winners again, which is madness in my opinion.
