I said I wouldn't post for a few days, but this comment from LVG is priceless:

Van Gaal feels Scholes' criticism of his tactics is unwarranted.

"I don't agree with his opinion, " he said. "I always take risks. Manchester United is always entertaining. "

If it doesn't tell you how deep in trouble we are with this guy in charge then nothing will. Paint Dry, Grass Grown, Utd Play.

Agree7 Disagree7

I wouldn't expect him to admit we are are boring team to watch. But it's a bit jarring from him to use the fact that supporters support the club as confirmation that they are being entertained. I for one will openly admit that under van Gaal I have fallen asleep on a few occasions watching us play over the last two seasons. I'm getting on a bit, but it never happened under Fergie or even Moyes.

If van Gaal wants to use the supporters to deflect against criticism of the way we play, he may face a more hostile atmosphere if he persists with his safety first approach.

Whether you want him gone or you want him to stay for long but Man utd under Lvg has never been entertainin. I have been entertained in hardly 5 games in more than 50 games we have played in the last 18 months although we have been effective and efficient in a lot of games.

The one thing that I agree with van Gaal is, if scholes hadn't said anything at all, he would come across as a boring pundit. He is paid to say things, whether it is what he thinks or not it gives him a bit more notoriety i guess in the pundit game.

I don't disagree with anything he said btw.

beast mate that quote isn't actually bad, he is just defending himself against a pundit a thing most managers do, what was really poor was his statement regarding boro defeat, it was almost moyes esque, which is now starting to concern me.

Scholes says Van Nistelrooy couldn't play in a Van Gaal team yet Van Nistelrooy is quoted as saying 'There's a bigger picture some fans can't see yet. In 5 years time they'll understand the masterpiece Van Gaal is painting', so I guess it all depends whose opinion you listen to.

Its pretty obvious what scholes intentions are with the criticism of van gaal. He knows its only a matter of time till giggs takes over, be it at the end of this season or next when van gaal walks and scholes comes in on the coaching staff. His constant criticism is his way of trying to push this 'process' along.

Reminds me of the emperor's new cloths. Anyone who can't see the master plan is just too thick. BUT WE'RE BUTT NAKED UP FRONT!

Scholes is my all time favourite player, but on this I don't agree with him. We have to be patient. As I said the other day we are still a team in transition. We have lots of youth players coming through, and we were slightly unlucky the other night not to have finished the game off in 90 minutes. i'm not saying we were by far the better team, but we certainly didn't deserve to go out in that manner. Poor pen from Carrick cost us the game in the end. Rooney was unlucky to have his saved, but that`s the penalty shoot out for you. May as well draw straws.

Pure luck that we couldn't score against a championship side in 120 minutes. Pure luck that.

Who said anything about pure luck Danny?

boro also had better clear cut chances too finish the game than we did don't know what match louie was watching but it wasnt just luck that won the game.

Bilko

LVG will be gone this summer or next depending on how things pan out. In 5 years time we will be a totally different team and no one will remember LVG. People generally remember managers who win things for a club.

He talks about luck all the time when we lose, you can't be unlucky if you are creating very little. You make your own luck.
