I know there is a lot of concern about the safety of project restart but I've got to admit I am very excited to see what this full strength United can do.

I can see us bowling over the small teams we've previously struggled against now we have the creativity of Pogba and Fernandes in the team.

Just hope we can extend the deal for Ighalo so he can become a real cult hero.

Either way I'm strangley confident we will get top 4 with the run of fixtures we have.

GGMU.

I have several concerns, but we can only hope every precaution is being taken.

I am also excited by the prospect of seeing a full strength United side. With Pogba and Rashford back fit to play with Bruno for the first time.

I think we stand a great chance of finishing the season strongly. On paper we have the easiest run in, yet the reality is often the hardest games over the final straight in the league are often against those sides scrapping against relegation. Which incidentally is also the sides we have struggled the most with this season.

Yet I'm still confident that we can do well. We still also have a great chance in the FA cup and the Europa League.

Full strength squad, well rested team. If Ole doesn't secure Champions League football for next season he has to be sacked surely?

Ours is not the only full strength and rested squad.

My point being mbd, there's no excuses for not achieving our minimum goal of top 4 if the season is played out.

No mumbles he won't be sacked.

Go on then Mumbles, I'll bite. We are currently 5th due in part to significant parts of the season being missed by Pogba, Rashford, Matic, Fred, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Shaw, McTominay and Martial. who have all spent more than 5 weeks each out injured.

Them being fit now does not mean we can go back and get the points dropped from earlier in the season.

3 points behind Chelsea and 6 behind Leicester who we have to play. With 9 games left and the easiest run in in the league. If our manager can't get this squad of players to finish 4th now, he should be sacked.

I remember asking this question near the start of the season and it was a unanimous "top 4 minimum or he loses his job". It's amazing the mental gymnastics some go through to justify an average manager getting average results.

There are zero excuses going forward if the season finishes. Finish top 4 or win the Europa league or he should be sacked.

We can win every game left of this season but if those above us get results as well then there isn't much that could be done.

7 wins from 9 will get 3rd imo.

You're right Shappy. It's not like we've played 29 games of the season already to determine where we are placed in a table of our competitors.

Poor Ole just can't catch a break aye Shaps.

I think you're right Ken. Chelsea have some difficult games and if Leicester continue their form before the break, we should comfortably finish in the top 4.

12.) 29 May 2020
29 May 2020 22:04:22
I think you're probably right ken. But the fact remains that in theory we could win all our remaining games and still finish 5th.

13.) 29 May 2020

And if that is what happens, then Ole should be sacked. Finishing behind a Chelsea side that had a transfer ban and lost their best player. And a Leicester side whom we took their captain.

We'll finish where we deserve to.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that Leicester might struggle a little.}

So Mumbles, what your saying is that if Ole wins all of our remaining league games but other teams also get results you would expect the club to sack Ole.

Who at that point will have won his last 12 games and be unbeaten in 22 games.

I don't think it's as black and white as finish 4th keep your job finish 5th get sacked.

You mention the previous 29 games, but as I have pointed out, many of our best and key players have spent significant amounts of time out injured. Pogba is considered to be our most talented outfield player and he hasn't started a match since September 30th due to injury.

People who defend Pogba point out that he was out top scorer and assister last season. So you could argue that had he been fit we would have scored an extra 20 goals. I think that would have been enough to get us at least an extra 5 or 6 points and get us into the top four.

In your scenario, if United win 9 games, Chelsea win 8 and draw 1 and Leicester win 7, draw 1 and lose 1 (to us) . Yes, sack him as he has failed to achieve his targets.

Moyes was sacked the day we mathematically couldn't achieve 4th.

LvG sacked for finishing 1 point off 4th place and winning an F. A cup.

Mourinho sacked sitting in 6th in December (which ole managed to win 9 games in a row, get to 4th and then somehow managed to finish 6th) .

Man Utd aren't in a vacuum. We are not the only ones with injuries. If it were us with a transfer ban and who lost our best player, you'd be spinning Ole as a miracle worker.

We have spent £200 million on 4 players to potentially move up one spot in the league?

If You like hypotheticals. What if we finish 6th or 7th? Does he lose his job?

16.) 30 May 2020
30 May 2020 17:40:51
Ole will be judge on many things not just position in the league .

17.) 30 May 2020
30 May 2020 19:29:42
Give it a rest already. If and when Ole is sacked and posters get their preferred choice of manager, I hope he is scrutinized the same way as Ole when results don't go his way, especially if he has the experience and CV which Ole is constantly bashed for not having.

30 May 2020 19:58:59
I am with you, i think all of you have a point. Soulsa appointed for results but then its no longer about results but direction of club and progress. So if at remaining fixtures with a full squad i fan see a direction, progress and clear ideas how to cope with teams that sit deep then i would say keep Ole even if we finish 5. But as things stands i can see why some want him go, we are not an attacking team and we have not idea how to cope with teams who defend.
