Didn’t get a chance to watch the game yesterday and only watched the highlights. Is anybody able to give a summary on how we played and who played well/ not so well?

On the face of it, it great result against an unbeaten Leicester side, especially with all those injuries. Wasn’t expecting the win, so great to see we grounded out a result. Hope we can improve on consistency and take each game as it comes.

We started well in general pattern of play, pressing high up the pitch and winning individual battles with Leicester players. A good example of this was Andreas, who sometimes looks a little soft in a battle- but he was up for it from the start.

McTom played well, seemed to be everywhere in midfield and made some good passes to switch play, or control possession. He and Maddisson had a good battle all game, could't help thinking we would look a different side with Maddisson playing at 10 in place of Mata.

Matic was calming in midfield, and was not caught out of position, but as usual he seemed plodding and slow to move the ball at times.

Mata didn't find much space between the lines and did little to affect the game.

James looked busy, was often an outlet ball. He played well and played a couple of crosses that deserved better from the players in the middle. He also came inside and looked dangerous. Later in the game he switch right wing in a reshuffle and we looked better down that side- although there was little ultimate end product from a few dangerous looking interchanges.

Rashford has a difficult game, he certainly occupied their CBs, has dropped towards the ball and received passes, being repeatedly fouled from behind - some given, some not. He failed to make strikers runs for a couple of James crosses. In general struggled to make much impact, except of course the key impact of winning the pen, and scoring it.

Wan and Young played as you would expect.

I thought Harry and Lindeloff played Vardy well. Leicester's most dangerous moment came from a Maddisson long ball over the top, which Lindeloff read well and dealt with - wondering why DDG decided not to take charge. They also had a snap shot that DDG saved well with his legs in first half.

Overall we lacked penetration, whist generally controlling the game. Leicester did gain back some control of possession but they could do very little with it. Have to be happy with the 3 points. After Liverpool and City there is a group of teams fighting for places. Can we score enough to top that group?

Thanks dodgy that’s a really helpful summary.

Apart from the initial chance, we didn't give Leicester any clear cut opprtunities.
Vardy was mostly a spectator.
Towards the end, we were sloppy and lost control of possession.
