Big fan of the site and the members although i must admit i have stayed off the site for a while as the whole 'Toxic' discussions as well as the bickering isn't great to read between fans of the same club.

Anyway just wanted to get peoples thoughts on the pre season we have had and wether or not people think we are done in the transfer window?

For me only having seen highlights, we definitely look fitter and seemed to be pressing much further up the field. (Something i admire about City and the Scousers) From what i saw of the Leeds game and the Spurs game we still look vulnerable at the back. I feel if Pogba stays and carries himself the way he has in pre season then an energetic ball winning centre midfielder and a dominant centre back would set us in good stead.

Id like to see the youngsters play in the league cup and Europa league and hope the team can challenge for top 4 (god i sound like an Arsenal Fan) and have a good go at the FA CUP.

You’ve pointed out some positive Harry, more energy and higher work rate, by all accounts there has been a big focus on getting them fitter which is very welcome.

The youngsters have done really well and I’d like to see a couple of them integrated into the squad and being part of the league match day squads. My take away has been we look like we have team that can compete, but as yet probably not a squad that compete. A couple of extra signings, better fitness, development of the youngsters then who knows? Mood is everything and the mood looks good right now,

I agree with AJH.
We are not finished with sales and signings that's for sure.
I fully expect darmian lukaku possibly sanchez and pogba to leave.
That sounds like a lot of disruption but with only pogba in his plans its ok really
A cb and cm x2 (if pogba goes)
Id be happy for greenwood to cover mctom looks like he could be a regular its another year away for the rest of them imo.
A loan for tuanzebe if we sign another cb and don't get shot of Rojo.
The camp looks happy the results and performances solid.
Very impressed with awb mctom lindelof and with james.
Martial my least fav player in the squad has looked better with improved energy and movement.

Too much drama and uncertainty surrounding pogba for my liking. He has behaved very professionally and been quiet on social media i think that's a good thing. If madrid want him i wish they would step up and make an offer if not let pogba stand up and say he wants to stay.
I expect us to be 15 points better and for the top 3 to come back a bit.
Really looking forward to the season.

Performance wise, I don't think we could have had a much better pre season, won all the games and looked fairly impressive for the majority of each game. We seem to be pressing more intently which is good, hopefully it's something we will see throughout the whole season and not just in the opening few weeks. Fitness looks to be good and we have plenty of pace.

The youngsters have been very good, each of Chong, Gomes, Garner, Tuanzebe and especially Greenwood have had their moments. I'm sure I speak for the vast majority on here in saying that I'd love to see them given some game time this season. I'm sure I said this at some point last season, if we are going to finish 4th, 5th, 6th etc with little to no chance of winning the league (which I think is the position we are in) I'd rather see us do it with the likes of Gomes, Greenwood, Tuanzebe etc getting significant game time than the likes of Jones, Darmian, Matic etc.

On the signings front, people are kidding themselves if they think it's been ideal but it's also far from the absolute disaster some are painting it to be. AWB looks like an excellent signing and chances are we might sign another couple. If we can sign a quality CB and CM we will be in a far better position than we ended last season and in my opinion would be ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea on paper. Not that being better on paper makes a difference but if we played to our potential we should make the CL.

I don't think transfer window can even be attempted to be judged till it's over at the minute it's like watching a 1500 meter race but not watching the sprint finish .
There's looks to be good signs in the pre season friendlies but then again there have been good signs in those games in other years aswell .
Alot of the areas that we know we lag way behind on haven't been addressed but it's a time for patience as they may well be before the window closes and a fair assessment can be made soon when things become facts and not speculation.

Friendlies mean nothing really. We don't get meaningful trophies for winning them. They are just for building fitness, trying out tactics and building team togetherness and confidence whilst enabling the manager to try to arrive at his first starting eleven for the start of a new season. Yes it is still apparent that defensively we are weak. Yes we need midfield reinforcements. The whole picture will only unfold over the course of the season. It would probably be very illuminating if we would all put our predictions for a new season at three points of time. Firstly at the start of the transfer window. Secondly in the middle of it and and then when the window had closed. With the beekdlfitnif hindsight when we looked back at the end of another season I wonder how stupid many of us would feel - Myself included - for the silly comments / predictions we made.

One thing for sure is that we will be seeing exciting football.
Hope to see us giving everything on the pitch.

We will sign another 2, we already look in a far better place than this time last year under jose, I fully expect the squad to perform a lot better than last season.
