Talk of social media and lack of maturity and leaders reminds me of a story John OShea told when Keano was captain, the rule was no phones in the dressing room and one rang in a players pocket, OShea said the whole squad were rubbishting themselves knowing he would freak out. Imagine what he would have done to Lingard and Pogba with their antics. Standards has fallen so much, no respect, no dedication. Just immature Muppets and they're in their mid to late twenties now hardly kids.

Would this be the same Keane who got kicked out of multiple clubs for being a nuisance, picking fights, spitting in other people's drinks etc and once needed fergie to bail him out of jail for assaulting women in a bar, so much for family values and maturity.

Csm you are right that keane was not a role model from any angle but what the OP is trying to say that he was focused and wanted his team to have no distractions before and during matches. I don't think this is too much to ask of your employees, who you are paying thousands of pounds per week.
I know it's the personal life of these players and no one can tell them about the use of social media or other stuff but the club have every right to ban cell phones from dressing rooms before matches.

Sailor has there been any report suggesting any players using phones pre match or during half time?

All this outrage is down to lingard's stupid video which while cringeworthy happened in a hotel room not during any game or in a dressing room.

If Keane was in our dressing room now he would be taken to court for work place haressament/ bullying. Times have changed and how we can deal with things has as well.

No point romanticising about how things were, or the way the world used to be. We need to find solutions that work in the modern era.
