Looked like Martial was not bothered again. The lad is just too lazy at tracking back. Two occasions i want to point out. Player runs past Martial, he let's him go and jogs. Player runs away from Lukaku, he tracks and wins the ball. THAT Tony Martial is why you are a sub.

Actually, just before that, martial received the ball wide right on a breakaway with lots of space in front of him and worried looking defenders back tracking. Martial hesitated and the attack fizzled out. Mourinho went bat sh1t crazy and if I had to guess, he will be sub for the next game again.

Judge the lad for what he does going forward. I don't want the best defensive centre forward in the world.

Good win. 3 points. Not pretty but lots of good signs. Players stood up under pressure. Ddg top man.
I don't think it will be too long before we see dalot play.
Fellaini was good in both boxes today.
Young played well we might see him rb against young boys.
Sanchez still looking a little lost.

I understand that as a winger your main job is to attack, create and score goals but I feel you still have a job to do defensively as well. If you lose the ball and your full back bombs on and you don't track, doesn't that create and overlap and an extra man for their attack? If you get both wingers doing that, plus a striker, which I would rather lukaku stay up top and be an outlet for us, then we are asking for trouble.

That square ball he played to late to Lukaku was horrendous and if played first time could have killed the game off, instead he slowed took a touch and played it sideways to Lukaku feet and Sanchez missed.

Never been a huge martial fan, still not after today.

Martial was brought on when we were trying to hang on for a win. Not necessarily the ideal conditions for an attacking player to show their talent. Few bits of lost possession, but not terrible. Long term, I can’t see him staying. Could become a star elsewhere, but not here.
