Realistically we will be playing 4-2-3-1 for most of next season with Fred and matic as the 2 and pogba Central in the 3 Above.

So signing fellaini makes a lot more sense then spending 30m+ on a replacement.

I would assume fellaini will be matics back up and herara will be Fred back up and you still have pogba you can bring back to play in the 2 plus you have mctominay and tfm as further back up.

So my priority signings are a left back and right wing. If there's money left after that it would be a cb and then another cm.

Just my thoughts

Good luck to all united fans home nations unless they are playing england.

I've read the Fellaini debate with interest and I think it's more what his signing represents that has angered many posters rather than the player himself.

Whilst I'm not his biggest fan he's been a good professional and represented the Club well. His perceived limitations as a player are not his fault and he always given his best. He possess a unique talent and when used in the correct way he can sometimes be an effective player and an awkward opponent.

I think at the start of the window there was a sense of excitement and optimism with changes to the coaching staff which maybe hinted at a change of philosophy and offered the hope of more expansive football.

The re-signing of Fellaini suggests to some that a leopard doesn't readily change his spots and the pragmatic football is set to continue or certainly remain a viable option.

In a strange paradox I think it's been fantastic to watch an England team playing with some intensity and imagination. I don't think anybody envisaged a year ago that Jesse Lingard would be integral to England's World Cup aspirations. The use of only one defensive midfielder with two more attack minded players is something we're just not used to from an England team and certainly wouldn't have happened under Allardyce. The fact that we've got both Ali and Lingard in the team, two tenacious, technically gifted, intelligent midfielders who both make brilliant runs off the ball, finding space between the lines is so refreshing and exciting to watch. I hope we don't revert to type and continue to be brave throughout the knockout stages. The exciting football and good weather has brought a real buz to the country.

Maybe Jose should take a look at what's happening with England and take notice. We just need Rashford to light up the tournament now.

At left back we have a choice of young Shaw rojo or even blind however we have nobody that wants to hug the right touchline, beat the fullback on his outside and deliver a cross. Mata always cuts back in and Jesse Marcus and Anthony would all prefer to play elsewhere.
For me therefore if we were only to make 1 more signing this window it would be a right footed (ie not bale) wide player to attack the byline as opposed to cutting in and attacking the penalty area.

For such a bad player he plays for a good club and international team?
Why is that.
