It's said pep took over a great squad but it's was the 17th oldest (average age) in the epl . It's the 6th now .

We're getting exactly what most people expected from Mourinho. He's always bought his team since Porto.

Boring but effective football against weaker opposition. But a manager who can draw big names to the club and establish a spine to the team, which has been lacking since SAF retired.

I fully expect that we go for a younger, more attacking manager once he leaves, who will have the option to promote youth around the established team Mourinho has brought in. By then, players like Rashford and Martial will have matured and play more consistently.

We just have to put up with it for the time being.

Jred, the whole argument around pep vs Jose is that pep promotes youth and that Jose buys his teams, I'm just saying that it is rather ironic that he has bought more players than Jose
Does anybody know how many youth players he took through to the first team in his 3 years at Bayern Munich?
I think it is well documented on here that they had the better squad at the time both managers took over as well.

Man city wanting extra protection from referees, forgetting tackles made by their own team during the season. Players that recover quickly and run all day. Where have we seen this before?

The argument around pep and Jose is far bigger than that .

My bad Jred, it's half the argument, the other half being style. I know mourinho is an antagonist but he does get a fair bit of unfair stick where as pep and klopp have the media wrapped around their little fingers.

This whole demanding meetings regarding tackles on his players, will only put extra pressure on referees. If Jose was at it, the press would be full of his 'Machiavellian, mind games'. Whereas Pep gets lauded for trying to protect his players. I really rate Pep, but there's no doubt he gets a relatively easy ride in the press.

Would be interesting to know if pep is using a previous medical team. Man city have failed to let the authorities know where their players are this season on more than 1 occasion. It's well documented that Pep fell out with the medics at Bayern.
