A lot of rumours regarding Lucas Moura going around. Many people claiming that United will get a deal done for around £20m.

What is everyones thoughts on this guy considering we were close to getting him before his PSG move.

Would you be happy with him or not?

I don't believe it because of the "20m part"

2.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 13:55:37
We'd be quoted more than that for an 8 year old 😂.

3.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 14:09:43
We need a right sided winger/ forward with pace. Reminds me of Jesus Navas for some reason and that’s not a good thing. If we get him it’s because Jose seems him good enough and that’s good enough for me although look at the clubs he’s linked with : Nice and Real Betis. Not exactly top drawer.

4.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 14:13:30
With only 18 months left on his contract 20m sounds about right. He has hardly played this year after falling behind draxler and neymar.
He is certainly a player that we don't have the likes of so he would bring something diffetent.
Could he do worse than miki or fellaini I doubt it.

5.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 14:19:57
He is not worth it at all and i think ed 002 confirmed it would be a lot of money for a player that is out of favour.

6.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 16:28:46
Just because he's out of favour at a club doesn't make him a bad player especially when the club in question is overloaded with attacking players. Would he be my first choice? Maybe not. But he'd have a point to prove, wouldn't cost a huge amount given his contract length, and just might be a canny signing.

7.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 17:58:41
Very very quick but end product can be very poor.
Could be an interesting signing.

8.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 18:57:17
I agree jred. Interesting. could dazzle, could also be very disappointing. But if he is to be signed as a cheaper alternative to another attacking midfielder, it being January, then I'm not against it.

9.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 18:59:11
If his crossing is hit and miss its better than miss and miss😂.

10.) 09 Jan 2018

If City get Sanchez and we get Moura well that about sums up the trajectory of the 2 clubs at present.

11.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 19:34:06
Totally agree with you boyfromburrenway. City get sanchez and we get Moura will be just about right in what's happening at present. He runs fast but that's it. Theo Walcott does the same. He'll be another awful signing. But as some of us keep saying, it is typical of our transfer policy. No guidance and no plan. This guy has failed in the French league, so what chance in the PL?
I would rather get Malcolm and at least he's showing some promise.

12.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 19:53:00
Attack

Yes but would it surprise anyone if we found out the price of Malcolm had gone up and maybe Moura is a lot cheaper.

Let’s see what happens but my confidence in the club to buy the quality we need is not very high. Moura makes little sense unless it’s a cheaper option.

13.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 20:03:20
Can you imagine how good Moura would be at city.

14.) 09 Jan 2018

City are after Sanchez, how do you feel about the difference between him and Moura?

Redman
Honest question how much have you seen him play?
I can remember you sulking a few year ago when psg blew United out the water and bought him .
You where convinced the glazers had limit and wouldn't spend over 30 mil.

That's why we missed out on a top talent like moura supposedly.

16.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 20:57:22
Jred

How much has anyone seen him? He can’t get a game. Maybe that is why he might be cheap and keep our accountants happy. I am not saying Moura is a bad player, but there is a difference in quality between him and Sanchez level players.

A few years ago my frustration was as now that we wouldn’t pay top prices like £35m for Aguero and Hazard

Please answer the question, if we bought Moura and City bought Sanchez, who got the better deal and what difference is there in the quality of the two players?

17.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 21:32:44
For sure red man. Massive gulf in quality when comparing moura and Sanchez.

18.) 09 Jan 2018

Would show the massive gulf in ambition of the club’s as well if that happens.

Still waiting for Jred to answer.

He played in 36 league games last season 36 the season before 29 before that 36 before that .

How much has anyone seen him?
He has also played 36 games for Brazil.
You are showing yourself up .

So again how much have you seen him play?

End product can be poor, pace and dribbling, out of this world, the fans would love him .
If a coach could improve his decision making could be a very good player .

The player you dulled about when psg bought him.

20.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:04:56
Red Man - who would you have rather signed, Mikki or Sterling. No comparison Mikki a top talent with Dortmund, Sterling, well he was never worth the money, didn't do anything at Liverpool. City really do have inferior ambitions to us, oh wait a minute, Mikki a flop, Sterling playing the best football of his career. I could just imagine your comments if we had signed Sterling and City signed Mikki, funny old thing football.

21.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:14:56
Keanooh sterling really has worked hard and seems to playing really well. It's really a wonder why pep wants rid of him? Miki has flattered to deceive unfortunately, maybe he just doesn't fit the EPL.

I would have said miki all day long going on what I saw but hasn't lived up to his hype and potential for numerous reasons.

Good post, some will only be happy if we are spending big cash on big names like do Maria.
Or Bastian.

Redman
What answer? Until both players had actually played for United and city how could you say who had the better deal .

We tried for ronaldiho but barce showed more ambition so we ended up with Ronaldo.

Your and it would seem angle are just big name spend spend spend.

Did the ed not say we wanted bale in the summer? Maybe we have a plan?

As for answering question lol you have ignored all of mine ;)

{Ed004's Note - Could easily be the case that Moura is seen as good cover for when Bale gets injured. Couldn't see the likes of Ozil, Malcom etc being happy sitting on bench for few games Bale is fit for}

How much has anyone seen him? He can’t get a game.? Lol says it all.

So pep wants rid off sterling. The way he is playing pep wants rid of sterling?

Keanooh is right .

25.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:25:00
Keanooh

I don’t recall suggesting we buy either of them. Sterling showed more talent at Liverpool except in front of goal and always had acceleration which would have made him preferable to Miki if directly compared.

The thing that matters is whether Mourinho wants the player or has someone higher gone bargain hunting?

Still lack an answer from Jred, who is still trying to justify any potential interest in Moura and won’t acknowledge Sanchez is a far better player.

26.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:29:49
Pastore and draxler also struggling for a game?
If we had bought draxler moura pastore before psg had a fire sale after spending big on them Redman angle and co would be happy .

Good player Sanchez, seems very unpopular in the arsenal dressing room is 29 years old and from all reports doesn't want to play for man United.

But if we don't sign him, never mind the above it's a dig at our ambition 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

27.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:33:26
Angel - I agree with everything you say and Pep has got the best out of Sterling something José hasn't managed with Mikki. My real point was just imagine if we had signed Sterling, whilst Mikki went to City, people like Red Man would have been criticising the club's ambition.
Another point that seems to be ignored is that maybe Malcolm isn't interested in moving to Utd, a bit like Sanchez is set on City if we believe the press. Perhaps Utd 'tapped up' Malcolm and he doesn't fancy Utd which is why we aren't pursuing him.

28.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:37:18
What answer? Until both players have actually played for United and city how could you say who had the better deal

Redman u must of missed It?

Remember how good a di Maria was falcao? Bastian? Veron?

So have you actually seem moura play? Obviously not.

09 Jan 2018 22:42:28
Redman w
hat if Jose doesn't want Sanchez and that's why there has been no reports of any interest in him from United?
Is the issue that we don't sign players and spend big money .
Or is the issue we don't sign and spend big money on players you want?

30.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:50:40
Redman what if it's Jose who isn't interested in Sanchez and nothing to do with owners ambitions just our manager preferring a different player to sanchez.

31.) 09 Jan 2018
09 Jan 2018 22:55:37
Red Man - I don't remember saying that you did say sign Mikki rather than Sterling. City buying Sterling was laughed at on here, what a waste of money. Whereas signing Mikki was a great signing for us, don't believe me go back over the posts on here.
As for Sanchez against Moura, I've not read anyone say that Moura is better. Maybe Sanchez has his heart set on City so wouldn't even consider an offer from us so why waste our time, but then that wouldn't make such a good read or give people a chance to moan.
If I was a top player (Sanchez) and wanted to win things then City would be my choice in the EPL. They have more chance of winning a trophy than us and they play more entertaining football. I know some people find it surprising but not everyone wants to sign for Utd no matter how much we might be prepared to spend.

Sanchez has played under pep and his free flowing footy might just fancey
That.

Remember when we broke the transfer recored for pogba while city bough a crock gundagon?
Talk about ambition.

33.) 10 Jan 2018
10 Jan 2018 00:05:53
He's totally unpredictable but that is what we need in our attack at the moment. Lukaku will play most games up top and I would like to see more Martial over Rashford simply for the fact that he is better, so with Moura on the right we would have danger pace and invention on both wings which would be a nice change.

34.) 10 Jan 2018
10 Jan 2018 00:25:13
I don't agree with you on this redman but i understand your point of view.
I think jred said it was 23 1st team players bought in the last 5 seasons. Many of those for very big fees and huge wages and a couple of mega wages. So i don't see any lack of ambition.
There are 5 clubs in the epl imo who now spend big money and pay top wages and can attract big players.
Many big Money signings give great value but most dont.
For me it's not about who we sign its about what they do when they play.
It's obvious to everybody including tje board the manager and all of us on this site that the team and squad needs new blood. But it's not a time for panic buying.
On Moira v sanchez as players over the last 4 to 5 years sanchez has been sensational at times and very good pretty much the rest of the time. Lucas has been frozen out recently but has done pretty well at psg without hitting the heights expected I suspect.
But sanchez wants city jose has shown no interest so it's a non starter.
But we will spend when it's right but it's noir a bottomless pit. And the next 5 need to be the right players there might be a wild card calculated gamble in there. But I trust jose to get it right and I expect the club to back him.

35.) 10 Jan 2018
10 Jan 2018 01:05:27
Jred, what are you on about? Talking from the other end. Spend spend Spend? I haven't said anything about buying other players. I'm happy when United are competitive and when they buy players upon the wish of the manager. If Jose doesn't feel he needs xyz then I don't particularly believe we need them. The coach is in a much better position than any of us. But as always, whatever fits narrative. You really twist certain posts to fit your view with patronising and condescending posts. But that's just the way you work I guess.

With regards to sterling, I am speaking about what ed002 has said in numerous sharkopods and numerous posts. I don't know sterling or pep personally but I trust the info that ed002 has given us. He has been spot on, on many occasions. Again personally I wouldn't like to get rid of sterling, that's if I were his manager but again as has been pointed out here on numerous times, pep wanted to move him on for whatever reason.

36.) 10 Jan 2018
10 Jan 2018 01:08:43
I know what you are saying keanooh. Always difficult to judge players and what they might be capable of unless you're jred and know it all 😂

Just look at jesse, many said he'd never be good enough and Jose is doing a great job with him. Much like pep with sterling.

37.) 10 Jan 2018

Angle
That's the way it comes across, we have shown no interest in Sanchez.
He might be a big name player but the club don't sign every player in the league that becomes available .

So us poor United fans might have to make do with players like moura as you say a gulf in quality between him and Sanchez? We haven't even bought him yet
And don't forget at the same age Sanchez was shipped out of barce because he couldn't get a game .

Arsenal must of been showing a lack of ambition when they bought him?

38.) 10 Jan 2018
10 Jan 2018 09:41:33
Ken - spot on, the next buys are crucial to us mounting a serious challenge for the league etc. I don't care if a player costs £1m or £100m it's what he adds to the team / squad that counts.
