The game was ok, flashes of great Olay but very stop start for me. Great to see McTominay who had a very solid game and slotted straight in. Once players are back we need to give Matic a rest, he has become pivotal but is playing every single game.

Martial was both impressive and frustrating but both he and Rashford always look like causing havoc and creating something so I'm happy to accept the poor decisions they sometimes make. Who knows, we, might see them in the same team at some point.

Chelsea were woeful, last night so it will be interesting to see if we go after them or sit back and let them have the ball. There is something not right there so I hope we get at them but I'm not sure we will. As for Jose, another win yet he was Mr Grumpy again. He has the personality to use humour in these situations but right now he just seems to want to argue. Since the Last Liverpool game he has developed a large chip on his shoulder and I wish he would chill out.

This is Jose, his teams will score goals because of the quality in them but I'm not sure people are going to see the free flowing football they want .

Not when it's 00, Jose is very much a win the game first manager don't take chances at 00 .
Rarely throws caution to wind if he doesn't have to.
Once the score line changes things change but you do get tight games, solid performances from Jose teams .

Intersting piece I read just now about how the fortunes of United and Chelsea have differed since Matic transfer.

I enjoyed the match last night; it was an entertaining game of football which either team could have won. Plenty of chances and some close decisions is what I want to see. That's where the entertainment comes from and that's what gives footballing satisfaction.

I'll give some credit to Mourinho for allowing an open game and not shutting up shop at 1-0. I'll also give him some kudos for persisting with Martial even after a couple of wobbly performances.

Far more to it than that imo, Chelsea had no injuries last year and no CL football massive advantage .
So far this season kante has been out hazard has been out Moses is out Luis has been out bakayaro has been out and to be honest morrata is no Costa.
Not getting a rest each week while other teams play in Europe midweek is also massive keeping the players fresh and fit.
There squad like last season looks light and conte suddenly has a job on his hands and not sure how he is handling the pressure.

Matic has been very good for United but we where very solid last season, United have had a dip when the forwards have lost a bit of cohesion.
Before the international break lukaku Miki the front line all playing well getting goals after that its been pretty similar to last season .

Can't help wondering why we don't ever have martial and rashford on the pitch at the same time, one wide left the other wide right. Got to be worth a try out especially at home.

are there funds available to improve the squad in january? he eluded to the club "making money" in the post match interview which i found a bit of an odd thing to say. i can only guess a meeting with ed woodward or whoever didn't go to plan during the last international break.
