Well after a difficult spell we find ourselves only 7 points off the top somehow. Title challenge anyone?

Just to add, gunners v Chelsea, WHU v City, Palace v Spurs, Leicester v Stoke next time. If only we could get a run going now.

I must admit i, like a lot of us, sometimes see United with red tinted spectacles and when there was 16/ 1 on offer for us to win the league a few weeks back I was tempted. But common sense prevailed. Yes we are 7 points off top spot but also 2 off Top 4. I think anyone who can produces a run of wins post January 1st always has a great chance of winning the title. Similarly there is always one team who goes on the slide completely and starts outside the bottom 3 but goes down. I think we just need to enjoy what is somewhat of an unexpected win over our old enemy. Personal view is we will still struggle for Top 4. I see the unthinkable of Leicester staying near the top. Don't have the class to win it but they will keep Top 4. Spurs will too and I still think this league is Arsenal's best chance for an absolute age even though they only have a point advantage now. City will beat teams by 3 or 4 at the Emptyhad bud they will drop points away. And more than what Arsenal will. that's where the league will be won and lost.

As for us, we may well improve from recent games. But we have such a lot to improve from. I would love to be wrong and see us go on a run of wins. IF we can do that then we are in with a shout. But realistically that is not going to happen. We had a fine purple patch this time last season which included the away defeat of the Scousers but that's all it was. We are simply not creating enough chances to be a credible title contender.

100 agree with everything in your post. We were so so poor and right time right place for Rooney who otherwise had a horrible game imo. If the score would have been the other way round we would all be saying enough is enough. The man has 9 lives but the football is so so bad to watch you can only laugh. Either we have accumulated a bunch of very average to poor players or a manager who has turned them into a bunch of nothings.

I agree a lot with what you say, I'm just trying to share some optimism. You never know is my mantra from now on.

Football was extremely poor, but the result counts in these games. We have to improve dramatically. 3 wins in 12 isn't great.
We play an improving Southampton next, so let's see if we can beat them convincingly. The other title challengers have tricky fixtures.
If we can make a couple of additions to the side, then it might make a big difference.
Not sure if lvg is the man to turn us into title contenders but for now, let's enjoy the win over the scousers.

{Ed025's Note - i will drink to that mate.. :)

Yes schmid, if we all send out positive vibes then it'll rub off on the squad, isn't that right.

Rooney can't win he plays as a striker an scores four in a row he gets slack, he involves him self too much in other areas he gets slack, give the man a break that shot would be in the crowd a few week back.

{Ed025's Note - i think your right big boppa, you only have 2 world class players in the squad..rooney and de gea..

Poppa

He made so many bad passes yesterday and his touch was awful, the goal was the saving grace. I was watching the spanish league yesterday and what stands out is so many players have the ability to receive a pass shift one way or the other with such ease and create space and make a good pass. a lot of our guys seem to be following the bouncing ball when they receive the ball due to poor control or always going one way.

Yes partly tru gcd but too yes current form is what we needed from him he's in the team to score and as ed said him and de gea are our best, I'm just glad he's upto what we need of him.
