There you go. The difference between the Champions of England and the Champions of Germany. The English Champions wait until the very last knockings of the transfer window, and then buy a very average, mid table midfielder.
The Champions of Germany buy two of the best players from their main title rivals. Says a lot!

Says a lot about the standard of competetion in the premier league, and the lack of competition in germany. Nothing to do with indivual clubs

Agree with eddmc. In spain it between RM and Barca in Germany its all about Bayern Munich for top players.

Its more the intent. Bayern were superb last season yet still bought 2 great players to add to their squad, while we really showed our intent (or the Glazers) by bargain hunting and chasing lost causes. We have slipped alarmingly, and I don't want to see United become a club the big stars won't join.

I take your point on intent OT, teams need to improve every year. But the top english sides don't sell their bestplayers to rivals, when bayern can have their pick of any player in germany. Its a different situation there compared to the premier league

Sure eddmc but why stick with Prem players? My point is that they were going for players from another successful competitor, German or not, whilst United were not really showing ambition in my view. For me its about the future and the signals United are giving out. I feel our standing is just eroding away.
