Have been hearing repeatedly since he joined that Jose needs 2/ 3/ 4 windows to turn us into a top team again. So which of his signings so far can we categorically call a resounding success? Not many I dare say.

One thing I cannot stand above anything in an elite level footballer is a lack of football intelligence. And I must say there seems to be a severe lack of grey matter in our team. Whether it's the players or the coaching or a bit of both, we look a yard off the other top teams in terms of ideas, movement, slickness, composure. Somehow it feels we can continue splashing money but the approach and tempo won't change.

"severe lack of grey matter in our team"
Precisely. 100% agree.

I think we have had varying degrees of success from all of Jose’s signings to be honest. Until about 2 weeks ago Pogba had been our best player this season, he has a couple of bad games (I think he was ill yesterday anyway) and suddenly he’s an awful signing.

We are missing Bailly a lot at centre half, I would like lindelof to get a go to be honest, lukaku has improved his game a lot, Matic is having a bit of a bad spell hit at the start of the season everyone was raving about him. We aren’t playing well but don’t think we are far off to be honest.

Sometimes I wonder about the intelligence displayed by our players, the simple things like passing to a player in space seems beyond their logic, they seem more comfortable passing a three yard pass to a colleague that is surrounded by three or four opposition players.

Picking out the main signings:
Bailly- class centre back when playing, looked a great signing last year. Been out as much as he's played, but that's just bad luck.

Pogba - under the negative spotlight now but even when his stock was high earlier this season he still had a massive question mark over his big game credentials for me. Misused by Jose or is he simply coming up short when it matters?
Zlatan - no one can argue with his goals contribution last year but would have to go down as a two-thirds season wonder for me, and that's accounting for his terrible injury. Resigning him was a joke.

Matic - started off superbly but I'm struggling with him. Is he knackered, is he being overused/ overworked, or is he simply past his best in terms of being the midfield rock over a full season?

I can't see him getting better next season, or the one after.
Miki - got rid as soon as we got a chance. Wrong player for this team and manager.
Lukaku - although I never wanted him and still don't, I've felt for him of late, as he's worked his socks off and vastly improved his link play, but gets next to nothing in terms of the right service. Not the right striker for us.

Lindelof - for a manager like Jose who goes out of his way to prove his decisions right, it amazes me how little faith he's shown in this guy, even with the smalling and Jones double act on show. Question marks.

So, how many more windows?
